Well, Dutch people have this 'we like cheese' image. We need to hold that up, and eat burgers in dark alleys to avoid getting caught...

Oh, and all Dutch people in Amsterdam are actually actors, to fool all the tourists into thinking we like them... ;P

Amsterdam is not really a tourist city, its kind of a blended thingie, and that is one of the reasons i enjoy living here so much

 

You just summed up why they annoy me. However, the blended culture is an illusion, I think. You have all these different districts that are dominatited by a select group of people. You might walk next to them on the street, but saying that they actually blend -and interact, if that is what you mean- that is not entirely true. Or am I being blinded by media reports here?

we dont really have any neighboorhoods where only tourists come, all the tourist spots are popular spots with the rest of the populace as well
