    Some sort of science-y facility and some guy with a crowbar. I wasn't even really aware there were alien-y-ish things in it.

    Yeah, there is.

    It's a physics based FPS with some light puzzle elements (that you can, for the most part, skip completely). Honestly, I HIGHLY recommend it. Like, everyone should at least try it. The first Half Life is a little dated, and not COMPLETELY necessary to play (though HL2 makes more sense if you do) but they're some of the best games ever made.

    Proof (Orange Box includes HL2, HL2: Episode 1 and Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress. Did I mention it's 20USD on Steam?)

    I already have the orange box. I just never got around to playing HL2. I had no intention of being some science-y guy with a crowbar in a science facility.

    HL 2 you're in one for maybe 15 minutes of the game.

    You arrive after a boat chase through ruined canals, get a gun that literally manipulates physics, then leave into a zombie infested village when the badguy aliens start launching shells containing smaller aliens that turn people into zombies.

    There's a lot of zombies.
