    It's the end of the world as we know it
    It's the end of the world as we know it
    It's the end of the world as we know it
    and I fell fine
    =====
    I want to know why everyone is fixated on 2012, just because some ancient calendar ends then.

    Nothing in there said the power outage would be permanent. It'd still be a severe crisis, but things would come around eventually.

    I love 2012 theories.

    Aztecs, Bible, Quran, Science.

    All point that 2012 is an important year.

    The Bible doesn't mention 2012, and science sucks at predicting the future.

    The power would likely be out for a few days at best. The source of the outage would be the electrical components running the generators and controls getting fried.

    Also, many factories today run on machines. These could also be damaged by the electrical waves. This poses a problem to companies that are dependant on these machines to make procision parts, as they will be unable to manufacture items until hey can be repaired.

    So, a possible senario could occur where powerplants need parts to fix thier generators and computers, but the factories need the power to produce the parts needed. Though this is extremely unlikely since many factories keep a warehouse full of unsold parts they produce.

    And with the current US economy already spiraling downward, a major power outage would rapidly speed up the process, possibly causing another great depression.

    Yeah, but if the electronic part existed in it's finished state, it would be fried no matter what. The parts could be made by hand, even if to temperaroly make shoddy parts, to give them the boost to make better parts, to make better parts again, till they get to their needed precision.

    Little do we know, that the electrical storms will also recharge and regenerate all deceased on Earth, giving rise to the zombie apocalypse.

    @BirdofPrey

    I thought it did? it doesn't state is specifically, but it is discreetly mentioned in the Book of Revelations through codes or something. My friend who attends bible study told me about it and I remember reading about something similar. I'll check on google later, I'm sure there are a lot of websites linking the bible and 2012.

    And its not the fact that it sucks, it's the fact that things point at 2012. True or not, it's interesting to read on and see each result they think will happen.

    I also heard that there is some code from the bible that points at 2012. Though since it's a type of code, they aren't sure if it really points at 2012, or if it's the notion that other places point at 2012 that influences the researcher's translation of it.

    But as others stated, SC2 would be out for a while, so we still get to play it even if the world(as we know it) does end.

    Dark, I think just telling me to stop spamming without another bit of typing on-topic might be spamming too, or just annoying.

    And it's Christmas, hush.

    I think this world is going to end stuff is a bunch of crock though...

    You're just saying that cause I called you out, either way, drop it, and stop doing it.

    The bible doesn't say a specific year, it just says the world will end with a bunch of plagues and such. Revelations is the only book in it I was able to read more then once. I've read it about 5 times, and I didn't see anything about a year. Of course I was never able to read the whole of the bible anyway, but got through a pretty good sized chunk of it.

    i know what they are talking about, scientists take a page or two of the bible, and then turn it into a word search puzzle of various width and lengths and see what kind of words pop up, but then again you can do the same thing with Moby-****(it got censored)

    Yeah, it's stupid. They did that with the two towers, somewhere in the bible, it talks about two ancient towers burning, and they took the page it was on, and ran it through the computers, and tried to tell everyone that they found letter sequences saying 2001 and things like that.

    Alright then o guardian. I shall cease my senselessness.

    I don't know... even if it was in such stuff way back... I think people just get overhyped about things, then proceed to turn it into a big deal.

    I mean... c'mon. The Y2K didn't happen. Humanity didn't go to **** due to the non-existant loss of technology, and with the electrical storm prediction... it may be a bit more plausible than 2000 indiciating 00 on computer dates, back in time when technology doesn't exist.

    Bring on 2012.

    I believe it is mostly just people trying to cause a stir, for some purpose. It happens all over history. The Cold War nuclear scare, that wasn't going to happen, no one was stupid enough or crazy enough to go through with it, it would have destroyed the planet, not just us and Russia.
