It's not even close to as deadly as the regular flu.

As of May 2, 2009, 11:00 AM ET, the CDC reports 160 confirmed cases in the US, and 1 fatality.

The fatality was a toddler in Texas, for whom the regular flu would have been potentially lethal.

You have more of a chance of dying of just about every other disease than of swine flu. Including the regular flu.

Around 23 have died from swine flu. That's roughly equivalent to the number of people who die of violence and starvation in 23 minutes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

^ why does that avatar look REALLY familiar...

I've got no knowledge on the Democratic Republic, so can't comment about that. Yet, I still see Swine Flu as over hyped and one of those news articles that no one will care about in a few months.

Well today at school there was a girl that was very sick and she left to go to the hospital. There is also a lot of other kids that just out of no where became sick. Making me a little nervous. If I find out that someone at school had swine flu, I'm rather skipping school or going to hope that school is closed.

What really intrigues me about her/him, is that no matter how hard i try to understand, i cannot truely get inside his/her head.... Kudos for that .

But hey, this forum could do with more cynical and educated opinion.

All right the problem is not with the average Swine Flu. Its another one, I forgot the name but its a combination of Bird Swine and Human Flu. And are immunity has no way to fight that.

The difference between the Swine Flu are getting and the really bad one is one kills you the other doesn't.
That and we have no immunity to it what so ever.
Its like how Spain took Small Pox with them and killed 5million Indians in Mexico. They didn't have an immunity to it.

Experts did say thought that they've noticed that people who have had the regular flu seem to have a resistant to other broods of the flu. That's why I feel some what safe because two years ago I came down with the flu so my body developed the ability to fight it off now.
