So my friend got a text message today in class by an unknown number saying this:

"Kermit the Frog died today, his last words were 'Damn you Miss Piggy!'"

It's pretty similar to the regular flu except with respiratory problems (I had a helluva cough, and probably a bit of fluid in me lungs)

They said what killed the people that died was their own immune system. Apparently their immune system kicked it too far into overdrive which cause the person to be overwhelmed and to die.

isnt that what usually kills you when you have a virus?
i mean, the whole sickness is actually caused by your immune system, not by the virus

The virus does damage but the high fever you get is your own immune system fighting off the virus, causing your inner temp. to raise. I worked as a janitor in a building that trained nurses so I sat through a lot of classes during my free time.

Yes and I recall this in bio class. A virus spreads like a parasite, it clings onto a cell host, injects it's DNA and eventually, the cell ruptures due to new virus cells breaking through. This is why virus's are so hard to fight and need the help of anti-biotic's.

In Starcraft terms, think about giving the Spawn broodling ability to broodlings.
