Wow, I would think Utah would be rather relaxed about carrying weapons.  I know Nebraska is fairly open about it.  You can pritty much carry whatever the heck you want without a permit as long as it is visible and you can get a permit to carry a concealed weapon very easily.

Edit: quick question, how big does a knife have to be before you need a permit.

Utah's like that with guns. Not anything else. I had to go through hell and back to get my knife permit.

I dunno about the sizing. It depends on the state. Here it's like 8 inches I think. I think I have five knifes smaller than that.

Dude. I'm pretty sure they cannot take something away just because it looks like a weapon.

You could potentially sue for an infraction like that. I know the police around here got in major trouble for making us get on the ground with our laser vests. Just because it looks like something doesn't mean it is something. They have to be careful about that.

Since it wasn't a real weapon (and it was f*cking Halloween, wtf!!!!) you don't need a permit and thereby they can't take it away from you.

Don't forget all you high school kids, unless you might have drugs (which you shouldn't), you have rights on campus as well. Don't say you did anything. Make them prove it.

I wasn't gonna get in an argument with the fuzz over something that cost a buck fifty.

I did once prove a po po wrong about Chinese New Year though. That was....Gratifying.

yeah... you may be vindicated in the end - but if you piss the cops off enough and they beat your butt and hold you in jail for a night... and then any compensation gets lost in layers of bureacracy... you might be left wondering how worth it it was

nooo... I just know what katanas cost... that's far above my price range - I have a good quality wooden practice katana, and a crappy quality display piece katana that would prolly explode into jagged shards if I ever actually struck anything with it - that's it for me

the display piece katana came with a matching wakishashi... other than that I have a pretty good bow, a few decent knives, a couple of worn machetes, a good wooden practice longsword... I think that's about it

    Cool!
I wish I had your weapons! nah.....

But I only want a bow. A real bow. I like archery. Which person denies that archery isn't an interesting sport?
