Ouch... So much hatred in the world, and all over simple names. What ever happened to 'sticks and stones' or 'a rose by any other name'? You people disgust me!

But seriously, are there actually any really derogatory names for people from a certain country? I could only think of calling someone 'American'. Sorry, I'll cut that out now. Are there?

I take pride when people say that to me in a insulting way, i then tell them to shut up and enjoy what they got because it probably wouldn't be there if it wasn't for us one time or another.

hmm, another derogitive name, German? i know there's still a bit of scorn from Britain and France since they got murdered twice by em.

Whether or not something bothers me is very dependent on the context of the situation. If I think someone is doing something with the intent on being mean then I am far more likely to get annoyed than if someone is doing it with more positive intentions.

EDIT: dark and fenix you guys really shouldn't be getting into a pissing contest we are all on the same side right? (now that I think about it dark, fenix does have a very roundabout way of banning you if he really tried, but it would be very easy to circumvent)

    Such as a joke?

    Or something else?

Edit: This shouldn't even have to have been addressed anyway.

I'm australian too. Not exactly 'true blue', though close enough. Btw i hate the Australian accent. I just can't seem to grasp why people love our accents so much. Thinking back, the Mick Dundee's overly exaggerate aussie (Croc Hunter) sended shivers through my back. I don't have an accent, i just sound like an english speaking individual. Acutally probably more british.

    Ged ou'!

    NOW!

Also, he wasn't a croc hunter, he was just a guy from Walkabout Creek, and the original story about him fighting the croc was greatly exaggerated by Walter, as you can clearly see with the fact that Mick still has both his legs. Also, he's awesome. Don't knock him. Get out.

But seriously, I've heard people prefer the Australian accent, in terms of learning English as a second language that is, because it's supposedly softer than the American accent or something. I can't quite remember. We were all told it in some assembly when our Jap exchange students came over a couple years back. I'm not quite sure why they left out British accents, but it's understandable. Who in their right mind would want one? :p

Wait, Steve Irwin was the crocodile hunter guy that was killed by a stingray, Mick Dundee was that 'that's not a knife, this is a knife' guy right?

    You're WAY off, dude.

Mick Dundee was a fictional Australian character in the Crocodile Dundee movies, played by Paul Hogan.

Steve Irwin was an Australian conservationist and wildlife expert, who was killed in a freak attack from a stingray a couple of years back.
