The consciousness is the fact we can say 'I' or think in this way.
It's being conscious of its existence. Self awareness, "conscience de soi" in French.

Not exactly Aurora, every person or animal has feelings but animals aren't self awareness (except great monkeys who are recognized as such by the scientists)

Have you seen a weak guy stand up to a strong guy? Doesn't end pretty.

Look at the other way. Why should a weak guy need to stand up to a strong guy?

I pick on the strong so I don't really know. Like in high school I was the weak one always picked on by the stronger people. Finally one day I just didn't feel like running away so I just started pushing back and have been doing so every since.

If you dug something up on Mars, would you have "unearthed" it? Or "unmarsed" it?

Unearthed. 'Unearthed' refers to earth as in soil, not the planet.

Well, Itza pretty much said it all.

However, if we wouldn't have called our planet Earth, the word would probably not be unearthed. Would you say unsoiled? :p

True, but don't you feel that's largely irrelevant?

Also, I'd suspect the etymology of the word would be the other way around, the planet being named 'Earth' after 'earth', referring, of course, to the ground.
