even though what your saying is ture, i dont think bizzard really care that much about the science of it.
Although blackholes are extremely cool things I gues the center of a black hole would probably a small ball of atmoms maybe even as small as my fist, but becuase they are so ridiculous tightly clustered together, the gravity they make jsut pulls even light in, and so anythime it pulls matter the atoms must jsut get pulled apart and join with the center of the black hole.

i must stress though how tihtly packed the atoms are, nomrally atoms have giant spaces inbetween each other, and within an atom there subatomic particles whizzing about also have alot of space between each other. Technically the everything s full of space, more space than actually makes up each atom, so in a blackhole there isnt any space at all it is completley and utterly solid.

Correct me if im wrong, im sure theres hundreds of errors in this thoery.

If the Mothership was destroyed while the Black Hole was being cast I don't think it makes sense for the units to suddenly be released, I mean the spell has been cast at that stage.

You are right about the atom space, but I remember I read somewhere else that blackhole has pressure and density so high that even the atom bonding is destroyed, only neutron left. The density is millions of kg/cm^3. Well, according to Einstein, the 4th dimension is time, and light speed is the ultimate top speed anything can atttain. If you can go above the speed, you are actually travelling back or forth in time (space bending). Thats why I said when someone drop into the blackhole, and even light cannot escape the gravity force (the pulling speed > light speed), it is not necessary he will eventually "fall" on the surface of the black hole, but travelling in the time dimension.

Well, thats what I have read, and yeah, it has nothing to do with SC2 :p :p Just wanna share out something that I have read ;)

Yeah, my understanding of quantum physics is limited, i talking purley about the matter, eventually those atoms, or those bits of atoms would get to the center, but how we percieve the black hole is somehting very different.
If you were to watch someone going into a blackhole they would appear to strecht and change shape (like in the game) and secondly you would witness something taht may or may not even be there, gravity slows down time and so you would see him getting there, but he may have already entered into the blackhole. (like you said) this is just something i read, and im sure it gets far more complicated than that (like you would see him go in, but he would actually be frozen in time on the outside or something)

Neither do I, It was 5 years ago when I was still studying physics. :p :p Yea, the whole concept is very complicated and I ain't intelligent enough to understand everything. So I just sit back and enjoy my day ::)

i find it so intresting, but i could never make a career out of studying that stuff.

There is nothing like pulling speed, it doesn't exist. Its far more complicated than that, but I don't think anything can be faster than light.

    Also read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermassive_black_hole
It's just a short story, but it talks about the fact that some black holes can get ALOT bigger, and have a little lower mass. Very interesting.

i saw a documentary that said every solarsystem is controlled by a supermassive black hole, and there active and inactive ones. when its active it shoots plumes of smoke out of the tops and bottoms of it, but when it isnt it just sits there.
its only active when theres stuff falling into it.
currently ours is inactive, and they dont know what will happen if things start getting pulled in.

its wierd how the universe works, i think hteres a such thing as a fractle universe, but im not sure really what it is.

I meant falling speed. Theoritically, nothing can exceed light speed, light itself has 0 mass, and when something approaches light speed, its mass will go towards infinite. But why even light cannot escape from black hole since it has 0 mass?? Thats why I said about the >light speed and time dimension thing.

I am reading the article, it's pretty interesting ;) Thanks.

Technically, light does have mass, as it's both wave and particle.....Otherwise it wouldn't be affected by black hole.

But black holes are all kinds of weird physics jazz.

Y'all should read a book called Earth. It talks about black holes in surprisingly layman's terms.....Plus, you won't believe your eyes after reading and looking at the copyright date.

einstien describes the universe as a single flat plain of gravity and light, a black hole then is a huge gaint dent in both of these, hence the name black hole, the hole referring to it as more of a point of gravitational oblivion than an infinite hole.
that leads me on to the motherships time bomb ability, in thoery when activivated nothing can hit the mothership, becuase if a missle for instance enters the field, the front bit of the missle will slow down, whislt the back portion will still be going at the same speed, meaning the the missle will be pushed of course when entering the feild, this is the same way light bends when it enters water, or crystal. Infact when time bomb activates the whole shape of the mothership should bend and distort.

but im sure blizzard dosnt care about that
and im sure most of you knew that anyway

this post had nothing to do with the prevoius post, just decided to write it in.

I felt the need to register just to clarify one thing. The existence of black holes has not been proved at all. It is still a theory and in fact there are a few interesting alternate theories.

since you're all using wikipedia as your source of information I shall link you to an article on one of those alternate theories: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetospheric_eternally_collapsing_object .

i wasnt using wiki at all lol

so the reason this alterneate theory has any ground is because they found a magnetic field where there shoudnt be one by the standard thoery.
    intersting

but i dont really understand it since i cant really read algebra, would you be so kind as to give a summary of the thoery?

I think the black hole would have an effect on ground units. while all the units are in the middle of the sucking process, they can still attack others and cast spells.

Here's my idea: after all the enemy units are crushed into one singularity. The mothership should be able to use that ultra-dense atom to attack. It would be called a big bang :)

mc2, your idea just gave me an idea. What if the Black Hole could also act as some sort of an optional Recall spell. Imagine this: a Mothership sucks a few Battlecruisers in during a battle. You know that another enemy is about to attack, so you create the exit of the hole somewhere above the other enemy's army, sending the other BCs out there. They would attack each other, and also buy you some time. Thoughts?

And the amount of damage it could deal would be equal to all the attack of the sucked units added up!

If Black Hole affects ground, and is used against a Zerg rush....Rather interesting, wouldn't you say?

Probably not, but freaking awesome idea.

Isn't that called a worm hole?

The sheer power of gravity of a black hole means that nothing, not even light (the fastest thing in our universe) would be able to escape from it. So all units will likely be crushed into something smaller than a grain of sand. So it's unlikely that blackhole are able to "recall" units.

I do like your idea though, a unit that can cast a spell which teleport enemy units to places on the map. It'll probably be one of the phase prism's ability in the expansion i think.

    Here's another question for you:
Will the black hole suck in structures?

They could be still playing with there new physics engine, so they did the demo over a space, but maybe there still programing the physics engine so when you do use it over land, the land gets ripped up and things. that would be cool

    ahhhhh, that would never happen
