Well At the noon and midnight, the hour and minute hands are exactly coincident with each other. So How many other times between noon and midnight do the hour and minute hands cross ?

Not the answer, but you definitely have an interesting way of approaching the riddle, good job! Try re-reading the riddle, though. It's pretty tricky, so reading it again should help to make it clearer, and then you can go step-by-step. Remember, all three of these Hydralisks (Tommy, Lucas, and Rory) are in the cave, and you need to ask three questions to figure out which is which. Use the questions to try and get information.

Yes, you can ask one Hydralisk about the other two. Keep in mind, however, that they can only answer with a Hiss or a Spit.

Yes, you can use "always right."

You're allowed three questions, asked to one Hydralisk each. An example would be to ask the first question to Hydralisk A, then the second question to Hydralisk B, and then the third question to Hydralisk A again. If you ask the same question to two Hydralisk, that counts as two questions, not one.

It's definitely on the same track as those riddles. I don't know if you knew this random fact, but most of those "Truth-Teller and Liar" riddles come from the real book called "The Island of Knights and Knaves" (I think it's called), which is what my riddles are based off of.
I regret to inform you, however, that the answer doesn't involve shooting anything at all. Lame, I know.

P.S. On a sidenote, those times won't be actually accurate, because of the little bit the hour hand moves. The real times would be more like 1:06, 2:12, etc.

 

I'm afraid I have one last question becuase my first answer didn't work out, will Rory lie/tell the truth on all the questions you ask him in that set or if you ask him the same question twice will his answer swicth. (can it stay the same?)

 

O forgot I think my dad likes Yuna. (in the you know what why)

Edit: Feel free to ignore this and go to my post a lil ways down. I misunderstood the riddle when I wrote this so it isn't very helpful.

First, ask each Hydra individually a question that you know the answer to.  As in, am I a human.
2 hydras will answer the same, one will answer differently.  This tells you that the one who answered differently is not Rory and that one of the other 2 is.

You have two questions left for each Hydra at this point.

Next, as the one you know isn't Rory if one of the other's is Lucus.  Then ask him if the other is Lucus.
You do this because you know that the one you are asking is either Lucus or Tommy.  If he answers consistantly both times, you know that he is Lucus.  If he answers a hiss on one question and a spit on the other he must be Tommy.

At this point, I also know what hiss and spit mean.  If I am talking to Tommy then he ansered my first question with a yes so I know whatever he did means yes or if I'm talking to Lucus I know he answered my first question with a no and so whatever he did means no.  Which event occured isn't important, what is important is that I know which is which.

Now there is one possible solution, in which I ask the hydra that I identifed all the questions that I want since I can call him by his name now and thus learn about the others.  However, this seems to easy a solution so I will try to find another assuming I can't talk to the one I identifed any more until I identify the other 2.

If I Identified Tommy first, I'm done since he would have told my which is Lucus and which isn't Lucus when i asked him questions to identify him.  So lets assume I identifed Lucus first since that would mean I have work to do.  Hmm, at the moment, I cannot think of a way to solve this for every case.  If I one every answers a question as a lie then I know that one is Rory, but that might not happen.  The problem is, It is hard to get a controdiction out of these two since Rory could answer in such a way to make him and Tommy indistinguishable and I cannot think of a way to solve it without getting lucky and having rory not tell the truth each and every time.  If I don't get lucky I can guess.

Actually the odds are pritty good for me not to die with this partial solution.  The probablily that I would survive and figure out who is who is 15/16.  However, that really isn't quite good enough.

Then again, my first solution, which I think is a semi cheat, would work.  Afterall, according to the story, A hydra only gets mad if I ask him three questions and am unable to tell him his name.

I think I'll sleep on it and see if I can come up with something better.

 

@Bizarro_Paragon <_< Yes, excellent, solution and answer, but just a little more bit, a little more friend and you will get the exact answer, well almost of the people, says its 11 but still wrong, lol, its not... sorry try again

Edit: ahh crap I just re-read what Bizzaro wrote and I guess my solution isn't allowed.  I guess I can only ask 3 questions total not 3 to each hydra. Now I am really stumped and I am going to actually get some sleep. Hopefully this won't keep me up to much longer.

Second Attempt

Post, ok it has only been about a half hour since my last post and I figured out the solution.

Ask each hydra if the other two are Lucus.  Lucus will answer the two questions consistantly.  Tommy will answer a hiss for one and a spit for the other.  Rory will answer either the same as Lucus, consistantly but opposite Lucus, the same as Tommy or one hiss and one spit but in reverse order from Tommy.

Case 1: Only one Hydra answers one with a spit and one with a hiss.  That one is Tommy.  Ask him a question you know the answer to, to learn what is yes and what is no.  Now you also know who is Lucus and by default who is Rory because Tommy already told you.

Case 2: Only one Hydra answers both questions consistantly.  That hydra is Lucus.  He lied both times so you know what is yes and what is no because whatever he said two times had to mean yes two times.  Ask him if one is Tommy.  If he says it isn't Tommy, it is Tommy and you know the other is Rory.  If he says it is Tommy, that must be Rory and the other is Tommy.

Well the angle that the hour hand makes is t/2, where t is in minutes. The angle that the minute hand makes is 6t.

So you can use tan(6t) = tan(t/2). Then you solve that (you can’t just set 6t=t/2 cuz it’s a trigonometric equality with an infinite number of answers). Hehehe Got it Friend Paragon
