Ach I said better end and not bitter end!!!

Good job Bizzaro, I would also have excepted chess, chessboard, or chess set, probably even checkerboard.

PS, you see what I mean when I say it is a battlefield.  In the litteral sense a chessboard is a game board, no litteral battles are fought on it.  However, it symbolizes a battlefield and the game symbolizes a war between two kings.

Edit: Aha I did say bitter in my original post. Just don't pay any attention to the last edit tag on it. I don't know what that could be refferring to.

You know, it's funny, because I re-read that thing probably about a dozen times, and every single time, I read it as the word "bitter." If you hadn't pointed it out, I never would have known.

    -ssjfox-
Shall I let you correct yourself about the pawns, or do you want me to point it out? ;)

Alright, I spent about a half hour working on this and I have a new one for you all.

I am hesistant to put this up for I am poor with only 2000 minerals but in the interest of furthering this discussion and because the person who answers this deserves a reward,

    For 200 mineerals

To those people who do not understand me
I am an enigma and a mystery.
For those few people who know me very well
My being is as plain as a tolling bell.
I know not why I am so hard to understand.
To me, that is the only question and hand.
For if I would answer this, I would know myself.
Who I am is what I am, that is, myself.
    Who am I?

Edit: change the word clear in the 4th line to plain. I think that captures the meaning a bit better.

no not an echo, too much emphasis on the a tolling bell. Truth be told I only used that phrase because bell ryhmes with well, so I feel a bit bad about it being misleading when that line wasn't meant to throw people off, other lines were supposed to do that. Just read that line as "My being is as clear as crystal" or maybe it would work better if I wrote the line "My being is as plain as a tolling bell". Actually I think a like that a bit better.

I am going to change that line.

Is the answer to the riddle "The answer to the riddle" ?

To the people who don't understand it, it would be an enigma, a mystery.
To the people who know it, it would be as clear as a tolling bell.
The only question at hand is what the answer is.
Anyone who answers the question already knows it.

I've got high hopes for this response, I think I nailed it.

Close enough; Bizzaro you are good.  The answer to the riddle is "a riddle".  If you don't understand a riddle it is a mystery.  If you know the answer the riddle is obvious.  The riddle says it does not know why it is so hard to understand, that is because it does not understand itself.  Who is it, is what it is, that is a riddle.

All right, this one shouldn't be so easy though there may be mutltiple posible answers that I did not think of.  Such is the problem when writing your own riddles.

I have been many things at many a time.
I have been a saint, and I have been a fiend
I have known anguish, and I’ve known bliss sublime.
I’ve been conqueror and I have been conquered.
I have known anger, and I have known great fear.
I have been a friend, and I have been a foe.
I have cried for joy and mourning shed a tear.
I have known great love and I have known great hate.
I have known all this and I have been much more.
I have also been everything in between.
Though, I am unique; I am not that special.
Tell me my dearest friend, what, pray tell, am I?

Again 200 minerals for the correct answer.  I hope I can stump Bizzaro this time.  His hydra riddle still has me stumped and I want revenge!!!

Note: Just so you don't think I've gone insane, I am exagerating my feelings.

    Edit: minor punctuation touchup

I'd go dig up another riddle but after giving out 1/4 of my min as prizes I think I need to rejeuvenate my bank account a little before I can post more. Hopefully I'll place in at least one of the two writing competitons and I'll have all the minerals I could ever want.

Alright, I wrote up another one. For this one, I am looking for a very specific answer as I gave enough clues that you should be able to guess it.

Since my riddles have proven to be quite easy, I'm only offering 100 minerals for the answer now. If this does prove to be a challange I will raise it back up to 200.

Today I disembark on my long journey.
I do not believe I shall be returning.
I am setting off to a foreign country.
Whose foreign customs I shall soon be learning

I do not know what strange things I should expect.
Though I do know some who like to speculate
None have any true knowledge in this respect.
However, now isn’t the time to contemplate.

Here I stand, now at the bourn of this strange land.
What love will I find, and what pains shall be known?
I’m not at ease; I gaze at my shaking hand.
I depart the known, to enter the unknown.

I see the far away place that Shakespeare named
A place in which people’s hopes and dreams are framed
A place that has inspired brave men to dread
A place encompassing the land of the dead

Name this foreign land where I now find myself

Well I'm really sleepy and about to go to bed but for only reading your riddle once and not really understanding it I'll say like a graveyard. If its not answered when I get home tomorrow I'll think it over than. Nighty night.

graveyard is an interesting answer but not quite what I was lookiing for. Get some sleep and come back to it in the morning. The wording and phrasing used in parts of this riddle are hints and you will probably need a clear head to put them together.
