@hilzagold not a library but an interesting answer. I'm guessing the line mentioning Shakespeare inspired that but it is not correct. It doesn't really fit the rest of the riddle.

@darkone, that is one of the answers I was expecting to be guessed. However, it isn't correct. The idea of heaven is not likely to cause dread and potential pain is not something most people would associate with heaven.

However, you are on the right track with that answer.

@hillzagold you are very close.  The afterlife and death are things very closely related to the solution.  In fact, in the original context of the solution, your answer would be close enough.  Howeer, the meaning of the solution has become a bit more general over time and can refer to more than just death or the afterlife.  I said I would be quite picky about the solution.  So I will give one more hint.  The solution would be in the form of an article and adjective followed by a noun and the noun would be catagorized as a place.

    An example
    The ugly dog

@Darkone, the final frontier is very close to the answer I am looking for.  The solution was also referenced in Star Trek at one point.  However, the solution I am looking for is a bit more specific than the final frontier.  The solution also needs to involve the journey being one way.  If it weren't for the second line hinting at at that I would accept your answer.

Eh, your last answer was closer. I'm thinking my solution may be a bit too specific but it is a very famous phrase. And I did leave a very big clue to that specific phrase in the riddle.

I'm guessing you have never heard this pharse before

    "...from whose bourn
Not traveler returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bare those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of"

I'm sorry then I don't suppose this phrase is something your familiar with

    "The undiscovered country..."

I guess that riddle was a bit unfair since it required you to know some common Shakesearian references.  The phrase refers to the uncertainty of death specifically and uncertainty about radical, irreversible change more generally.

Edit: also, your answer of the final frontier is probably close enough to deserve the reward.
