Well, Wikipedia calls him a "smooth-talking evil red cat". So I guess that's that.


Anyway, I made some money a little bit ago playing Gold Miner. sooo... for 181.36 minerals:

Jim Raynor, Fenix, Zeratul, and Tassadar are hunkered down in a Command Centre that's under siege by several new Zerg strains. The air is thick with a new type of Zerg Spore, that completely blinds them all. Luckily, Jimmy has recently stolen some new UED goggles that allow someone to see clearly through the cloud.

A Dropship has just landed for evac. Unfortunately, the platform connecting the landing pad and the Command Centre has been so damaged that it can only support the weight of two people at a time. Zeratul can get to the dropship in 1 second. Fenix can get there in 2 seconds. Jimmy can get there in 5 seconds, and Tassadar can get there in 10. Can you get all four heroes to the Dropship in time?

So:
All four heroes must arrive at point B within 17 seconds.

Only two heroes can move at once, and they must move at the speed of the slowest hero.

A hero may only move if he has the goggles or is travelling with someone who does. Hence, if Tassadar and Zeratul cross first, Jimmy and Fenix can't immediately cross after. Either Tassadar or Zeratul would have to bring the goggles back, first.

It takes the same amount of time to get back from the Dropship as it does to get to the Dropship.


An example of a run:

Tassadar and Fenix cross: This takes 10 seconds, because it's Tassadar's speed.
Fenix returns. 2 more seconds. 12 seconds total.
Fenix and Jimmy cross. 5 more seconds. 17 seconds total.
Fenix returns. 2 more seconds. 19 seconds total.
Fenix and Zeratul cross. 2 more seconds. 21 seconds total.

So, I went over by 4 seconds. Good luck, everyone.

Well, it doesn't HAVE to be 17. You can always leave one of them to be killed by the Zerg. But last time a hero got left to the Zerg, we got Infested Kerrigan. If you want to be responsible for Infested Zeratul running amok on the universe, go ahead ;D.

On a serious note, yes, it has to be 17, and everything is typed as it should be. Zeratul takes 1 second, Fenix takes 2, Jimmy takes 5 and Tassadar takes 10.

If you have any specific question, I'll be happy to answer them, though I'll likely be heading to bed soon.

 

Can you give me a hint? I mean, I go with Zeratul returning because he's the quickest. He takes the goggle to the shuttle, and back after dropping off a hero. It only makes sense, I would think. But then I end up with 19 Seconds, no matter what order I go in. Any chance I could have a hint to help me along?

 

Well I want to give others some time to work on it tomorrow, so I'll just give a simple, non-commital hint before I go to bed.

Zeratul may be the fastest, but he still has to travel at the speed of the slowest person.

And true as that is, he's still fastest to return, so it would seem that would make most sense. Rather than have Fenix return it at 2 seconds, Zeratul saves a second by returning quickest. Eh... my head hurts.

OHHH! I got it, Fenix and Tassadar are dead, so they don't have to go anywhere.
