New quote. 150 minerals, no googs, i beg of you.

"Myrmidons, brothers of the sword. I'd rather fight with you than any army of thousands. Let no men forget how menacing we are... We are lions! Do you know what waits for you beyond that beach? Immortality! Take it! It's yours!"

I bloody well love this movie despite the inaccuracies.

Wow a quote I acctually know it's unbelivable. But I could still be wrong.

I think this was from the movie troy when Achilles was giving a prebattle spech to his Mrymidons, and if its not this than I have no idea what it is.  ???

Oh and thanks for the power up hadean I just noticed it.

Anyone get anywhere with Bizzaro's three hydra riddle?

I stopped following the Puzzle Corner thread after part one but randomly got to start reading from the middle of Part 4 right from Bizzaro's knights and knaves riddle. I was hoping that by the time I've read up to the most current post, the answer would be out, but I guess not...

    Here's my set of riddles:

    250 minerals
You are stuck in a room with no windows and no doors.
There is a hole in the floor about a foot deep (ok, half a meter for you non-americans) and just a little
wider than the diameter of a table tennis ball. There is a table tennis ball at the bottom of the hole.
You have a fork, a wrench, and a long, thin plastic wire.
How do you get the ball out of the hole? [SOLVED]

    200 minerals
When does the following equation become true:

    16 + 53 + 3 + 27 + 7 = 14

    150 minerals
Your task here is to change one letter in each of the following words, in order to find eight words with a common theme.

    Drone
    Bait
    Builder
    Cede
    Done
    Pest
    Vial
    Tuna [SOLVED]

    200 minerals
A palindrome is a word that reads the same when spelled backwards (eg rotavator).
How could the following word be considered a palindrome?

    FOOTSTOOL [SOLVED]

    100 minerals
    Until I am measured,
    I am not known.
    Yet how you miss me,
    When I have flown.
    What am I? [SOLVED]

Same rules. No google. No editing posts.
    Happy solving!

#1 - Tie one end of the wire to the handle of the fork, and the other end of the wire to the wrench. Drop the setup into the hole fork-first. The fork will pierce the ball thanks to the weight of the wrench, and you can pin it to the side of the tube, allowing you to drag it up.
That, or just pee in the hole. Table tennis balls float, after all :good:

Working on the other ones now

For the third one, can I just turn the L upside down and add a line? That would turn it into an F, making the word FOOTSTOOF. Or, take the first F and flip it, and remove a line, making the word LOOTSTOOL.

    LOLSTOOL!

(Triple Post, I'm such a terrible person. Last one, I promise :))

I have absolutely no idea about the word one. The key to figuring it out seems to be the word Builder, as I can't think of any words at all that can from that. If someone finds a word there, they should be able to find accompanying words in all the others.

    For #2, I'm going to say that 16 + 53 + 3 + 27 + 7 = 14 is true on LEAP YEARS. Why? Because 16 + 53 + 3 + 27 + 7 is actually 105. On leap years, the 105th day of the year would be April 14th. Hence, 16 + 53 + 3 + 27 + 7 = 14.

And for the last one, I'd say it's the concept of mass or volume. Unless you measure it, you can't really know it. But if it left... I mean, I'd miss it. Wouldn't you miss having volume? I mean... it'd suck.

This one is correct. You just had to pee in the hole. :good: 250 minerals to you.

The answer to the last riddle would be time wouldn't it? We measure it with clocks and at older times where the sun was and if we don't we have no idea when it is, and time is said to "fly" when were having fun so we miss it whens it's over becuase than the fun is over.

The palindrome one: If you put a mirror on the letter S you get a palindrome ;D Doesn't matter which direction the mirror faces.

LT, for the three remaining riddles, do any of them have to do with using alternate languages/numbers systems?

Things like using words in different languages, translating them directly, switching the base number, etc?

    For the equation riddle.

    Guess one

Never because the statement is a controdiction.

    Guess two

when you apply modulus 23 to the sum
