    Never played the console version.
Webswing stuff in a free roaming enviroment is cool, but in my opinion not something that makes it a good game.

Imagine yourself playing gta, -any version- and you are only able to walk around, drive a little and beat up some guys. That just turns the game into a piece of crap. I never meant to say the spidey games are extremely bad, they just rely to much on the spiderman theme. Take that away, and you take away most of the fun. -being spiderman-

Anyway, the cartoon version of spiderman. How about that? I thought it was pretty cool, but him randomly mutating into that real spider... Do not know if that was in the comics, but it was sort of weird.

But it IS what makes a Spiderman game. Lackluster combat can be forgiven for movement controls that are intuitive, and truly capture the feel of the webswinging. Its hard to describe, but the key thing is that your web has to attach to actual buildings, you control where it attaches, and that doing so controls the arc of the swing. In the PC game, you are not able to do that, and in Spiderman 1, you just swing from web attached to empty space.

Isn't that how it was kinda shown in the cartoons and movie. Parker always just shot a string of web and you see him swinging parallel to all the buildings.

Not really, he missed quite often. Sometimes he even ran out of that stuff and fell down. Not to sure about the parallel swinging, it's been quite a while since I saw it. However, he is always swinging diagonal in the movies. No idea where you saw him doing it like in the pc game.

Wodan, you are right. I looked it up. Swinging with the web actually attached to buildings kicks ass. :D

One of the weird things in Spiderman movie was the web. I thought he invented it and not just started producing it with his hands?

I don't know, but in the carton he always used some sort of capsule that contained the web ircc.

Anyway, how about the Batman Beyond cartoon? That is imo one of the few cartoon conversions that worked out really well. It had really cool bad guys, and a bad women. Inque was the only baddy that came close to actually killing batman. -Although batman was not Bruce Wayne.-

Peter parker has invented his web fluid himself and uses high presure release valves that require superhuman strength

I'm thinking of the spider man cartoons not the movie. but yeah in the cartoons the only thing the bite gave him was superhuman strength, a danger sense, and the ability to walk on walls. Plus in the comics and cartoons he always seems to be not shooting at buildings. They did correct that in the movies.I will admit though that in the cartoon series I watched it was weird when he changed into an actual spider that one minute was giant size, then the next moment he was the size of a normal spider.

The Marvel Movies are based off of three different things:
    1. The Marvel setting
    2. The Ultimate Marvel setting
    3. Whatever they think will make the movie narrative run smoothest.

Spiderman is only able to create his own web in the Ultimate Marvel setting, or when he has the Venom suit in the regular Marvel Setting.

Just thought of my favourite conversion. Weird that it took so long for me to think of it:

The Animatrix, most awesome addition to a movie ever.

Lol I remember watching that. I disliked the 3rd matrix movie and I saw that on a shelf in the video store. I thought it said Anti-matrix so I grabbed it. I was surprised, but then I ended up enjoying that movie.

How awesome was the part where you see those samurai fihting on those roofs. Top quality manga.

Or where they start the war, that two-parter:

"Give up your flesh. We demand it." *nuclear explosion*
