That's a false dichotomy. Blatant fallacy.

Well Global climates and war are a bigger issue at the moment. I mean if we are uncertain anyone is going to be alive in a hundred years why fight for the rights they will never be able to experience? I mean lets look at the numbers here. First you have people dieing from robbery and murder. While I will agree it is a lot, but its no where near as much as global warming or war. Also, there really isn't much you or anyone else can do to change human rights in China. They don't care about public opinions, and their not going to give a damn what any other country thinks about it.

Again you have your mindset wrapped up around this false dichotomy that we can handle only one problem at a time. If you'll rather focus on saving the planet from global warming (which I really think you do very little to fight anyway) and ignore the other blatant wrongs that are going on in the society then please go on. You're a terrible human being.
No single person can fix all the different problems we have but the least he can do is to stop going around and try to put people off using his made up dichotomy that we all have to do this and ignore that.

Well, here is the thing Higgs. What China does to its people is wrong yeah, and while we can handle many things at one time... China isn't one of them. NO one can or will change this other then the Chinese government themselves. You can protest it here in the US and they won't care. You can protest it in their country and wind up arrested and then deported. While on the other hand global warming is something we can deal with. China IS NOT something anyone can deal with. Please tell me how someone could convince the Chinese government this is a bad idea? I would love to hear it and so would the rest of the world, because there has been a lot of effort to make human rights more prominent in that country but it never works.

Well the ironic thing with that statement Jshep is that we can't control what the Chinese government is doing about global warming. How can we convince China that she should reduce her GDP growth and risk political instability just so other western countries who got to rape the planet ever since the industrial revolution can reel back the damage they caused while raising the living standards of their people.

To reinforce what Marinefreak just said:

1st. column is CO2 from 1751 to 2004. You see USA is dominating there.
2nd column is CO2 in 2004. You see both USA and China is dominating there
3rd column is CO2 percentage increase from 2000 to 2004.

It should be obious to all that USA and EUrope must take the lead, not China, even if China is the most CO2 producing nation in the world. The reason for this can be seen in column one.

And Japans CO2 is very low because they have nuclear power plants... (but dont they have cars or something?)

japan's cars are the correct size to move people, that's all. you don't need a friggen escalade to drive 8-year-olds to a soccer game.

to be honest, i think it would be a better system if people in a country were organ donors by default, but had the option to opt out, instead of opting-in. right now, there's always a huge lineup or delay trying to find people with the matching blood and immunoreceptor types. it would definitely save lives.

i know some people don't want their organs donated, but would i be right in considering them to be a minority? a lot of people (me included) are fine with donating organs after death, but so far i've just been too lazy/forgetful to register myself as an organ donor.
