This year is showing more than ever that Michigan needs a big change but of course I would expect a few more mediocre seasons before we return to the elite.

It's unfortunate that my college career happens to coincide with the 'downfall' (so-to-speak) of Michigan football, and they probably won't be back in the elite for at least another few years. Even last year when we had a pretty decent season, going 11-0 before a close loss to OSU, the bowl game against USC really started to expose the fact that we need a change.

    College football is very popular.

    Penn State - 9
    Michigan - 14

Maybe we'll be able to win the Big Ten after all!

    Congrats on your team winning

Nebraska also won 41-40. To bad the game was only a PPV so I couldn't watch it and I didn't listen to it on the radio. Judgeing by the score it would have been an exciting game.

Well... the Gators had a little trouble against Ole Miss, but still a solid win.

    UF 30

    Ole Miss 24

I told you Michigan was gonna beat Penn State ;)

But don't count on getting a conference title. Not when you're only putting 14 points up against each other and losing to unranked teams....

The good news for me is that LSU only beat South Carolina 28-16, so while I'm still nervous, I maintain hope that we're outright better than them. :D

USF looks to be doing great. They beat North Carolina, who is unranked, but still. South Florida is lookin' pretty good. In fact, Florida in general (except FSU, but they will always suck anyway) is looking awesome!

    They beat

Well Penn State was ranked the 4th best defense in the entire NCAA. Also, we tend to lose to teams that run the spread/are fast haha. Big Ten is neither, so we definitely have a shot at the conference championship.

My brother goes to South Carolina, so I am unhappy about LSU's victory. However, I will definitely root for them for the title cause I HATE USC.

USF is tight. They haven't been good in a long time.

What do you mean USF hasn't been good in a long time? Dude. They used to be a I-AA school two years ago. They've NEVER been good. It's like... I don't know... Central Michigan suddenly being in I-A and winning.

Also, Penn State being 4th in defense overall is a bunch of bullsh*t. There is NO WAY that any Big 10 team should be ranked anywhere NEAR the top of overall defense. You saw what happened to OSU when faced with an SEC defense/offense. Torn apart. And then they kicked around the rest of the Big 10 (except for Wisconsin) which tells me you guys are all living in the cave men years.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't entirely sure, so I just said "...in a long time."

As far as Big Ten football - you are right! That is why even if we end up winning the conference championship Lloyd Carr needs to go and hopefully we can get LSU's coach. It will be the start of some big changes in the Big Ten.

In any case, my main point is that despite only scoring 14 points, we have a shot at the conference championship. Then we'll go on to get smashed in the bowl game like any other year.

Yeah. Unfortunately (for the Big 10) you do have a shot at the Championship. You just have to beat OSU. And they're without Troy Smith (the worst Heisman Quarterback I've ever seen). Stop the run. Throw the ball. Don't rely on Hart so much.

I'm not sure if you still have Chad Henne, but your best bet has always been to go to the air.

Oh, and rely on your speed. Put your damned freshmen on the field and make them run the ball down the field like hell. When I watched the OSU vs UM game last year, all I saw was runningbacks going up and down the field. It was a shootout of who could break through the secondary because both Defensive Lines were absolutely HORRIBLE!!!

OSU won that shootout, clearly. Then they came to Arizona and found out that Percy Harvin (#1) runs the 40 yard dash in under 5. Good luck catching him.

While we had trouble against Ole Miss, the Gators are extremely young. This is our starting QB's fourth game as a starter, and we're starting 18 freshmen on the field.

Major Wright is giving out some punishment, but if you watch his play, he's making a lot of mistakes. Considering that we went up against a veteran defense (in the SEC, any defense is tough to defeat) I think we came out pretty well.

And getting a new coach will start you on the right road, but you also need to change up the way in which you play. It's a bit like watching the Revolutionary War. When you play by their rules, you lose. When you play by new ones that fit you better, you win.

That's what we did to OSU and what we'll continue to do this year.

BTW, what the F*CK is OSU doing ranked at #8???? They beat Northwestern... I mean come ON!! WTF is THAT? They play such a cake schedule, why are they ranked #8 again????

They should be down near 15.

And check out this exceptional little blurb:

That's straight off of ESPN. WHAT?????? Toughest Defenses? Did anyone watch the UF vs OSU game??? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They played us and lost. Then they play cake teams and blow them out 50-0. They're doing the same thing as last year.

Here we are blowing out Tennessee who last year we beat by one point and Jim Tressel blows out a team that just lost to Duke (which hasn't won a game in God knows how long) and they move up four places in the rankings..... It's just like USC. They do absolutely nothing to deserve the bump, but they get it anyway. Stupid mascot, too.

An interesting staturday and it isn't over yet.

It is still third quarter on the Nebraska/Iowa State game and Nebraska is leading 21-10

Also watching the Colorado/OU game and it is fourth quarter and Colorado is down 7

Edit: I'm rooting for Colorado over the Sooners since if the Sooners lose it would be a huge upset

Edit 2 Make that 28 10, Bull Rud just made a 93 yard interception return.

Edit 3 Still 24-17 Colorado down, and 6 min left in game.  Colorado ball at mid field

Edit 4 Colorado punts OU fumbles return, Colorado in great position

Edit 5 Colorado tourchdown and make the extra point, all tied up.  Unranked Colorado against 3 ranked Sooners

Edit 6 Husker/Cyclone game still 28-10 and Colorado/Sooner game 2:00 left, still tied and Colorado ball at OU 35

Edit 7 02 left and Colorado needs to make a 45 yard field goal to win

    Edit 8 Colorado Wins 27 to 24

Edit 9 Nebraska scores to make it 35 10 with 2:25 left in the fourth. The game is over, Nebraska wins

    So far a wild week.

My Wolverines played a pretty sloppy game, but came out with the win over Northwestern. Illinois beats Penn State, Colorado beats OU, West Virginia loses to USF. Notre Dame is now 0-5. Strange games all over too - Maryland was beating Rutgers, and the Wisconsin MSU game is a good one.

I just hope Washington gives USC a run for their money tonight.

Dude the West Virginia loss was a given. Simple.

    Good weekend for football..

I'm tailgating for the Auburn vs UF game RIGHT NOW, literally.

Anyway, should be a good game.

K State/Texas game is good too.  Right not K State has a 3 point lead and have the ball.  They have been holding their own so far so they may maintain or increase their lead.  If they beat Texas this will be a great day for the big 12 north.  2 unranked big 12 north teams beating the top ranked south teams on the same day would be great to see.

Edit 1  K State is now leading 34 21 after a field goal and a punt return brought back for a touchdown.  That punt return goes with the kickoff return for a field goal they had earlier.  And K State just intercepted the ball again.

Edit 2 It is fourth quarter and it is now 41 21 K State lead.  Great news for the north.  Both Colorado and K State will likely be ranked after this and with Nebraska and Missouri ranked we may finally have four of the six teams in the big 12 north ranked at the same time.  Although Missouri will likely lose ranked status after the Huskers crush them next week.

Edit 3 I'm watching the FSU ALA game and my one thought is, who is worse.  It is fourth quarter and the score is 24 ranked ALA 0 and unranked FSU 7.  That's not what I would call impressive.

Edit 4 I've been watching the USC/WASH game and the FU/Auburn game and wow.  Auburn beating UF and WASH leading USC.  Nevermind USC scored they are tied with WASH  FU still losing

Edit 5 FU loses and, I am not going to lie, I am very very happy

Edit 6 USC pulls off the win but they are not going to be first after that performance. 16 penalties and 3 turnovers make for an unacceptable game. Poor WASH, they had a chance but it just didn't work out. The only question left is, how far will USC fall in the polls. My guess is second but I think they should go to at least third.

I am so f*cking pissed at Auburn.

The Gators played absolutely terribly for the 1st half. The game shouldn't even have been close, let alone a loss.

I can't complain about their second half performance. They almost won. It was very damn close. But that doesn't make me hate Auburn any less.

Whatever, one loss never killed anyone, and you can't win them all. Further motivation to beat LSU next week.

Furthermore, still no reason for USC to be ranked #1. LSU will take #1 and hopefully we'll be taking them down next week.

USF will probably be ranked higher than UF for the first time in history.

Also, Quanta, never call UF FU, or I will kill you.

Another sweet football weekend. The Stanford Cardinal beats USC, Notre Dame wins (although I was hoping they would go 0-8), Illinois is looking half decent, LSU beats Florida in an amazing game.

All these 'upsets' however show again that rankings mean NOTHING. I really think that college football could use a playoff system, and say two top teams from each conference would go. There would be no BCS controversy, and rankings would be unnecessary.

As far as my Wolverines go, we gave a real lackluster effort against Eastern Michigan to win 33-22. I think that we should be able to beat Purdue next week (OSU dismantled any legitimacy Purdue had). I am worried about Illinois - mobile quarterbacks destroy us. Then we have Wisconsin, MSU, Minnesota, and OSU. We can beat the first three, but OSU will prove a challenge. But it is a rivalry game and anything can happen, so we definitely have a shot. And if we run the table we could still get the Big Ten championship.

omfg dude... LSU... we HAD THEM... WE HAD THEM HANDS DOWN!!!

    until the 4th quarter... *cries*

So we're hoping to take the SEC with an undefeated run the rest of the season and beat the bejesus out of LSU (I think we showed that we're even teams, if the Gators aren't BETTER). There were AGAIN some very questionable calls. Brandon James out of bounds? I don't think so.... alas... can't change it.

    Fuck football. Lol.

Well we finally got our win.

Tenn got slammed, South Carolina got knocked out as well.

Since we took Kentucky we're now back in the lead for the SEC East.... Auburn vs. LSU later tonight and if Auburn takes them... we'll probably end up playing stupid Auburn again....

But our offense was very consistent today and put up a hell of a lot of points.

    UF 45 Kentucky 37.

BTW the real score is UF 45 Kentucky 31, but whatever..... they threw it into the end zone after the clock had stopped and so the UF players started walking off the field.... the refs still called it a TD. What the f*ck ever. Lol. Enjoy your touchdown loss.

If we win every game from now on and OSU loses any games (they suck. period. They suck. Niner, please make your team beat OSU) then we may be back in the NC game.
