No. Ohio State University you crazy mofo. Lol.

Anyone but OSU can be in the championship game.

It's like saying Boise State should have gone last year. They play a cake schedule every year. CAKE. Then they play a real team, Michigan State, and barely win. It's a real indicator and should be a huge blinking warning light to the BCS voters, but nooooooooo.....

The funny thing is Michigan State isn't really what I'd call a real team... hahaha. Although to be honest I am hoping that Ohio State remains undefeated until we play them - it'll make us look even better when we beat them. They do have to play at Penn State next week, vs. Wisconsin, and vs. Illinois before us - any of which could theoretically beat them.

We had a pretty decent game against Illinois despite not having Mike Hart, being on the road, and starting behind 14-3. Henne stepped it up and we capitalized on a lot of Illini mistakes.

Continuing upset season though.... South Carolina lost to Vandy, USF lost to Rutgers, Cal loses again. I will be interested to see the new rankings when they come out tomorrow. At this point, I am pulling for Oregon or LSU to play in the national championship (sorry Joneagle).

A final note, I think that a huge change should happen in college football scheduling. For instance, the first or second game of the year, every team in conference A should play a team in conference B. (For instance a Big Ten versus SEC conference showdown). This way, conferences could be evaluated much better, and each year conferences can be rotated. I think it'd go a long way to help get the right rankings.

Actually, I'd rather there just be a conference championship.

We're one of the only conferences that has one and works extremely well. It's near impossible for the worse team to take the conference just because of one game. It's like our own little playoff.

Then we could rank the individual conferences and by those rankings base the bowls. That way only the champions from each conference would be eligible for the NC game.

Also, why do you think LSU over us? We nearly beat them, we just couldn't stop the 4th down conversions. Now we're stopping them and we beat Kentucky handily when LSU lost in Triple OT.

I think it's pretty clear that the three teams of the SEC, Kentucky, LSU, and UF, are pretty darn close in talent and skill. Any of the three of us could play.

Oh definitely. There is no doubt that all three of those teams are near equal in talent. I am just going on the fact that LSU is a one-loss team, whereas you guys and Kentucky are two loss teams. It's nothing against you guys - I just would not like to see the any of the same teams in National Championship two years in a row. Unless it is us of course haha.

LOL! Why not? We've only won two ever! You guys have like seven!

Anyone but OSU man, and it's all you guys. You have to take them down to their rightful notch. Don't let them beat you.

The problem is they have speed. No, not speed like ours, just more speed than other Big 10 teams. They can just run around the outside and the secondary won't get there in time to stop a 20 yard run. Bigger isn't always better.

Anyway, we'll be playing LSU at the SEC Championship game and when we beat them we'll get our shot at the NC.

Especially with all these one loss teams. There's very few undefeated teams that deserve the title. OSU is only undefeated because of their cake schedule.

    UF vs OSU rematch! PWNED!

As I've come to expect this season, another crazy weekend. Some notable scores:

    Boston College - 14, Virginia Tech - 10
Wow. Just wow. I've never seen a better fourth quarter ever. It seemed all over for BC, but they broke the curse of #2 by a stunning performance by Matt Ryan for two touchdowns in the last two minutes. Ryan is definitely a Heisman candidate.

    Mississippi State 31, Kentucky 14
    Georgia 42, Florida 30
    Connecticut 22, USF 11
    NC State 29, Virginia 24
    Tennessee 27, South Carolina 24
Continuing upset season. Crazy stuff, especially Florida. South Carolina came back from a 21-0 deficit, only to lose in OT. Bummer.

    Oregon 24, USC 17
My pick for the National Championship stays alive! Hopefully it ends up being BC versus Oregon... but we'll see.

Ohio State 37, Penn State 17
Ohio State stays undefeated, and even though they haven't really played anyone 100% legit, I'll admit they are looking real good...

    Michigan 34, Minnesota 10
Despite Hart and Henne being out, we still crush Minnesota (as we should). I definitely think we have a shot at the Big Ten championship and taking out Ohio State at the end of the season! GO BLUE!

    *sighs*

Lloyd Carr NEEDS to go. We have now lost six out of the last seven games to Ohio State. Today was so depressing. We finished with a total of 89 yards. Our play calling was terrible, Henne's throws were off, Hart was not a factor, and then when we actually made a play Manningham would drop the ball. What the heck.

Yeah I watched. But don't feel too left out.

We just got shut out of the SEC Championship by GEORGIA. WTF!

    Lol.

I just hope OSU doesn't make it to the NC game somehow. I'm rooting for LSU the whole way.

What a crazy end to a crazy season. And I'm sorry traditionalists, but it's time for a playoff. Every other sport has one - and loves it. It wouldn't devalue the regular season. It wouldn't generate less money. And so what if it will require some schedule tweaking - laziness is not an excuse. Imagine if everybody got as excited for college football post season as march madness. I know I would watch every game as opposed to solely the two or three bowls I care about.

National Championship - Ohio State University vs. Louisiana State University
Umm... LSU is going to dominate, but neither team deserves to be there. OSU for obvious reasons, and then, I'm sorry, but a two-loss team should not be in the national championship (under the current system).

Missouri being left out of the BCS, and Kansas put in (even though they lost to Missouri)
    Missouri got shafted.

But in all reality, this season did NOT produce clear-cut national championship contenders. PLAYOFF PLAYOFF PLAYOFF.

Capital One Bowl - Michigan vs. Florida
Well, Joneagle, at least one of us will enjoy this game. Your boy Tebow is going to destroy us completely. I don't think the game will be close.

I've been calling for a playoff for years. We definitely need one.

I was hoping for a second shot at LSU because I'm convinced we would have dismantled them. They're not as good as they were in October and we're much better than we were then. Plus, they won on 5 4th down conversions in a row. Our defense has improved tenfold. If we hadn't dropped any one of our games we would undoubtedly be in the National Championship game, for sure.

But I'll accept LSU blasting the crap out of OSU again. Once again the Buckeyes don't deserve to be there... SEC victory all the way.

As for the Capital One Bowl, I'm really looking forward to it. I actually kinda called this last week because I knew Missouri was going to lose. I also thought West Virginia was going to look past Pitt, and they did. Traditionally when someone says "We're not going to look past them" it means they are going to look past them. Lol.

So I knew OSU was going, either Georgia or LSU was going, and that Illinois would then to go the Rose Bowl, which meant either Michigan, Missouri, or Hawaii was going to be playing us in the Capital One Bowl, and I knew they wouldn't send Hawaii. :D

But don't get down about it, it should be a really good game. I would only give us a 7-14 point spread, no more. Michigan is a good football team, but we can't afford to lose to you. Sorry. Losing to the team that lost to OSU and Appalachian State? Can't let that happen. Not to mention your head coach is outta there... won't have enough motivation really.

You can look at this as your shot at the Championship game from last year. Lol. Plus, last time we played in the Outback Bowl we got creamed! LOL!

So Rich Rodriguez is our man.

Sweet! We are finally (after a couple of molding years) going to have an up-to-date style of football at Michigan. I almost think this is a better pick than Miles would have been...

Gotta feel kind of bad for WVU though - we now have stolen their football coach and their basketball coach within a year.

So... football season is in full swing again for 2009.

I'm looking forward to us tearing apart the SEC but we've got to get past an apparently good Georgia team and LSU in order to do so.

OSU also just got their ass absolutely beat by USC 35-3. They're just terrible, I don't think it's necessarily that USC is unstoppable, just OSU is friggin idiotic.

The Big 10 is really becoming a joke.

Have no fear, ninerman is here!

Haha, A) I've been busy lately and B) since the forum change I was not receiving updates on this thread. But this college football season here is my humble opinion:

NOBODY CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING EVER BECAUSE THIS IS THE WORST SENIOR YEAR EVER (in terms of football). My Wolverines were expected to have growing pains, but who saw this coming? 2-5? Bowl streak in jeapordy? Penn State streak over? Loss to a MAC team?! ARRRRGHHHH.

That said, I am now pulling for the championship to be Penn State vs. Texas. I think it'd be a great game. They better beat Ohio State next week.
