I'm surprised to hear that. Maybe existing but not posting members are started to post more, or maybe I'm just noticing the few that have joined because they're posting in the same topics as me. Either way, I've noticed more new members.
I never said that light couldn't escape from that distance. It's impossible to have an inescapable place that's two metres away from the event horizon, because the event horizon is the start of the inescapable zone. I said that light is the only thing that really has a chance of escaping and chances are a lot of it won't, only the light that's travelling parallel or perpendicular to the black hole would really stand a chance. All light travelling near or through it will get sucked in.

Nope, at 2 meters away from the horizon, any massive object can escape if he travels away from the black hole at a 90 degree angle. The speed would have to be 99.999... % of speed of light, but it wouldnt have to be traveling at speed of light.

Good luck with that just floating there. Props if you pull it off.

True, but both times I said that only light really has a chance at escaping. Obviously things that are travelling nearly as fast also do, but it's not really noteworthy seeing as the only thing that we are familiar with that travels at approximately the speed of light is light. You're just being pedantic, but who am I to complain? I'm probably equally as pedantic, if not more so, just not in the same fields as you. Can't be pedantic in every subject at once without knowing everything. :p

Erm guys... not to sound pedantic or anything, but you're way off topic, to the point I didn't bother reading what you've said.

Be glad that they are atleast discussing something, when I look on the forums the new interesting threads die away so fast that when I come in the evening back from school all I can see are the old spam topics again.
I dont think its fair towards those who try lift this forum up.

Yeah that's a bit hypocritical. Saying that the people who are talking shouldn't talk because they're off-topic. Anyway, what parts did you actually read? Was it just the ones about black holes or all of them?

    How is that hypocritical?
And I don't see how lower forum activity justifies breaking the rules. All the more so since forum is far from inactive, I'd understand if almost nothing was being discussed, but it's just a decline which is just normal since most of the zerg stuff was discussed and there's not much new info for now. What's stoping you from just making a topic about blackholes and discuss it there? That said, you know I'm not a saint either and it was just a reminder.

I read most of the topic, I only skimmed through the posts that were solely about black holes and these are the ones I meant. I don't see anything wrong with talking about blackholes if you're also posting something off topic in the same post.

Ok, sorry. Didn't mean to have a go at you, just pointing out some things that may or may not have been beneficial to point out.
Anyway, I've outlined my plausible reasonings for the reduction in forum activity. I'm sure it will be boosted by the new makeover it's getting though. I think people are more hesitant when things are uncertain. Once everything's back to normal things will pick up again.

I am bit dissapointed. I came to these forums with a lot of enthusiasm. I created couple of threads trying to lift these forums up but nothing really happened, my topics vanished and the only active topics is Space Junk and related threads.

Well, I don't know what's up here.. Maybe we need the Beta, to have something to talk about. People who had ideas, already discussed them, the screenshots were analysed from pixel to pixel, we don't have any new Blizz info released, and people.. get stuck in space junk..
