Whenever my dog starts barking at nothing, I'd think it's a ghost or something....
But personally I don't really believe in ghosts.

Can ghosts have schizophrenia? Would the two personalities look any different dead? Seriously, wouldn't there be at least one crazy ghost who thinks he's a dog or something?

I'm not going to say that there is nothing supernatural. I've just never encountered something of that sort. It's obvious that there are lots of things we don't understand so..you never know.

I am a strong believer in ghosts, in a Christian sense. Ghosts, I believe, are demons, which are trying to twist your perception of the world and your religion. If you have ever read the Bible, you have probably heard of the story about King David and Elijah. When Elijah died, King David wanted to speak with him again. King David, though, had banned all which doctors out of Israel, found one, and sought to "summon" Elijah's soul. It was not Elijah that David actually summoned. It was a demon. It talked. But it was all rubbish what it was saying.

Okay, so here's the deal on my beliefs. I'm quasi-sort of into the idea of a "greater spiritual being or place" but I am in no way affiliated with organized religion of any sort. I sometimes refer to God as that greater spiritual thing but not the one regarded as "God" in the bible.

As far as spirits and ghosts go, I do. It's really funny cuz it depends on the time of the day, lol. Like, if you get me into a real conversation about the philosophy of life 'n all that crap, I could go nuts with it and usually talk for hours. A part of this talk about involve me explaining how ghosts are probably harmless beings who are simply just walking around doing their thing but somehow crossed over here and there at certain places. I think Fenix's depiction of the thread weaving is a great. So it'd be as simple as that...

...UNLESS you get me all scared 'n worked up after playing a game like ExMortis or the Grudge or something like that, and somehow all rational senses go out of my head if I'm ALONE and in the DARK. See, it's not the dark I'm afraid of per se, it's the possibilities of "just what if?" going on when there is no one around to acknowledge anything. It's kind of like, the original 90-100% of my idea that ghosts are just harmless ethereal beings drastically gets overwhelmed to about 10% whereas 90% of this idea that something COULD just be around the corner (why not? it could tilt its head as you're turning the hall and scream bloody murder and rush towards you sideways) and there's no one else to sort of bring you back to your rational side.

It can be the darkest creepiest forest or hell, even a haunted house and I wouldn't be that scared if there was someone with me. Like, even a dog would pretty much take away all my fears. But once I'm alone, i'm pretty well screwed.

Anyone else get what I'm talkin about or can empathize or did I just turn into the only and biggest pansy in this forum?

Well, it's hard for me to really talk about this here, because I am Christian, (I've just recently switched from private school to public), but I can see many of you have almost similar beliefs as mine.

Arch, I totally get what you mean. Just during the day, I go with my thread theory....But at night with all the thumps and bumps.....I get rather paranoid. Over-active imagination and all that jazz.

Yes, i believe in some sort of energy or ghosts. Is it people who have passed? I'm not so sure i believe that. My brother and I have discussed the idea of two different timelines crossing with each other. Not dimensions but... actual time. Somehow, in some way, paths cross that shouldnt.

And yes i have had a couple of experiences. Mainly in the old apartment I lived in for 10 years as a kid. I often saw a man sitting on our couch (out of the corner of my eye).

I also had an experience where my parents were out and I was home in my room. I heard the front door and assumed they had arrived. I saw something come into my room and walk towards me. I thought it was my mother, but when i raised my head, it was a woman all in white. I didn't see her very clearly or even dead on but she got to the foot of my bed and dissappeared.

2 minutes later I heard the front door again and this time it was my parents. They totally believed in such things too so they definately believed i saw something, someone, or some form of energy.

My brother and I also experienced a poltergeist sort of event. We were in the same room at the same time and saw one of his cassette tapes slide across the window sill without us anywhere near it. We also saw a few other things rustle like someone was walking past them. We both thought we were crazy until we realized the other person saw it.

We always jokingly said there was a ghost in our apartment, but were never scared and never felt like whatever it was, was there to cause harm.

We moved out about 6 years ago and we are in a private house now. Never really had an experiences here, though it seems my cat often sees things we do not. I think animals are great at sensing that kind of stuff though.

The Egyptians revered cats because they believed they could see into the spirit world. Who knows? Maybe the Egyptians were on to something?

I do know that cats are extremely perceptive, and are very in tune with the vibes in a room. If two people are having an argument in a room, and a cat walks in, the cat will generally pick up the mood and become agitated.

And I thought this was about Ghosts in Starcraft when I first saw the topic :p.

I would like to beleive that there are spirits or beings of energy beyond our knowledge or of another world. The Universe and reality itself is a vast and mysterious place and we know so little. I like to keep my mind open to any possiblity.

We also wonder how and why but do we ever think why not?

i as well as PancakeChef though this thread was about Ghost from Sc ........
I dont believe in ghost or supernatural im sorta the see it to believe kind of guy , scientist kind of mentality.

However its does shock me when people believe that lady from Montel WIlliams show something Brown is her name .... she says some crazy stuff about ghost and trolls (it is amusing thou) but sometimes she says like the most logical thing on can expect....for example i remember on the news that a family who had lost their kid for about a week or month and they hired Brown to help them out she said he is dead in the woods... later they found out he was living and had been kidnapped they had rescued him too... good thing the family didnt give up looking for him after what she said...

sylvia brown. my mom and grandmother liked her. they didnt neccesarily believe in everything she said in regards to talking to the dead but they did like theories and stuff she had for things like angels and all that. they read her books. i found it all a bit...i dunno... suspicious. not to say there is no such thing as clairvoyance but i wouldnt think most people would flaunt something like that if it really were true.
