i dunno, actually i can see people believing in her theories about angels and talking to the otherside it gives people a sense of spirituality and hope which is ok in my book..........but not my sorta thing personally i like to wonder about things far far away in space like if there is a galaxy which has the same conditions as earth in which some life form has evolved to a reasonable being like us, or whats in the depths of the oceans where there is tons of pressure no light and low oxygen......sorry im geekin out lol

Um....I wouldn't be too proud of that.....The archaic definition of a warlock is an oathbreaker.

Alright, here's a lil story that I think might tickle the fancy of those who might believe in the supernatural.

This happened to my uncle-in-law, and family stories passed down are always the best. Anyway, when he was a kid, like, 10 years old or so back in China, he had a friend that would come and knock on his door every morning to get him to go to school. Every morning, on time, a very set routine.

Anyway, this best friend of his and him were hanging out one night kinda late and the friend asked him if he wanted to go to the lake, but he said "naw it's gettin' late, I'll just head home." So the friend went alone and he went home to bed. The next morning, he heard the same knock on the door and his friend's voice goin "Hey! C'mon, let's get goin!" So he opens and door.

His friend is nowhere in sight. Only a very very white rabbit with eyes that were apparently incredibly red, like blood and almost incandescent. He doesn't understand what's going on at all, so he just went to school.

After he got there, friends and students were talking about something big that happened and he found that his best friend had drowned in the lake the night before.

I couldn't sleep for a few days after hearing that story... heh...

You should write a book, Archlimit. That's like Steven King material.

Haha, if only I came up with it. I didn't. Which makes it extra scary cuz it was just my grandmother who told it to me, and she's a straight arrow. Wouldn't make crap up at all just for a good fright.

I agree, believing in ghosts is up there with believing in Big Foot, the Tooth Fairy, and Jesus.

I was shocked and very disappointed when I saw the results of this poll showed almost half of this board believes in ghosts.

Before a few years ago I would say that I didn't, but I live near this old mining town known as Virginia City and I've seen some things that are very hard to explain in the traditional sense. And if want to rationalize it 10 years ago people who believed in the giant squid were thought to be crazy and 5 years ago people who thought there could be life on other planets were crazy, now NASA seems to have found fossils of single celled alien organisms on mars.

So, in conclusion I wouldn't limit myself, because there is a lot of stuff that has been unexplored/unexplained... so I'd say yes i guess i do believe in ghosts =P

  14. "Japetus Steenstrup wrote a number of papers on giant squid in the 1850s. He first used the term "Architeuthis" (mistakenly spelled Architeuthus) in a paper in 1857. A portion of a giant squid was secured by the French gunboat Alecton in 1861 leading to wider recognition of the genus in the scientific community. From 1870 to 1880, many squid were stranded on the shores of Newfoundland. For example, a specimen washed ashore in Thimble Tickle Bay, Newfoundland on November 2, 1878; its mantle was reported to be 6.1 m (20 ft) long, with one tentacle 10.7 m (35 ft) long, and it was estimated as weighing 2.2 tonnes."

The giant squid is accepted scientific fact and has been so for over a hundred years, they just havent been seen ALIVE untill recently. Only some backwoods incest yokel like yourself believe in the existance of this animal until ten years ago.

And life on other planets is scientifically explainable and plausible; life is proven to exist on our planet, so it could exist somewhere else. With the trillions of planets in the universe it makes sense that life would appear on more than one (though it is highly unlikely that life exists within our own solar system). Ghosts are not proven to exist anywhere and there is NO evidence of them

it's amazing how passionate some people get over a simple discussion such as this, almost silly.

Comparing ghosts to alien life is pretty laughable. "Trillions of planets" is actually an understatement. There are 10^21 or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars estimated to exist in our universe. The majority of those stars has atleast one planet. The odds of another planet with the elements to support life, large enough to hold an atmosphere yet not so large its gravity is crippling, close enough to its star that it gets enough sunlight and warmth yet not so close it is torrid, and has been left long enough for life to develope and evolve is overwhelming. In fact, odds are there are several thousands of planets with life as advanced or more advanced than humans, let alone simple unicellular organisms.

Now believing that there are entities, perhaps even people long dead in a new 'form', made of an element or elements unkown to us, with the ability to walk through walls and move objects, become visible or invisible at will, capable of acknowledging our presence and even to 'speak' to us is simply ridiculous and is the mark of a person with an inferior and childlike brain.
