    religious faith = blind trust

religious people are "obliged" to say that theyre god exists because they were taught that he/she/it exists
meaning, your belief is only limited to what others have taught you...

so unless youre doing an extensive research and exhausting every single resource available to prove that god exists

saying "God exists" is a biased statement

Digging around i think its safe to say we have not found noah's ark. All reported discoveries have either been confirmed as hoaxes or any evidence given was very restrictive and the people involved haven't gone into reliable detail to back their claims.Even various christian groups have denied that the ark has been found.

I want to use the universe as my proof. But I know that if I use that many of you will speak the big bang theory. You say one thing and I say another. Both theories can't be proven. You say men of science proves yours. Who's science? How do we know that that isn't wrong? Someone spoke once saying America has history wrong. Says who? How do you know percisly what correct. Majority says? What if the majority is wrong? I have to ask why many of you choose to believe in almost impossible chances and scoff at the talk of God. You believe that when you turn the corner your house will still be there. You believe that your vehicle is actually there. You believe there are billions upon billions of stars. Yet you scoff at God? You believe things are there when you can't see them but refuse God? Why? I must know why.

Science doesn't disprove the existence of god it merely calls into question the accuracy of the organised religions teachings. Following your logic agnosticism (which i seem to follow) is the only logical way to think.

Christianity (and all other religions) merely creates opposition to the belief of god as it restricts any spiritual thinking to one course of events. In turn science creates opposition towards testing theories and using the product of those tests to our advantage as we find out we are restricted to a universe of easily seen laws. As a result both "sides" (Even when we all follow both to varying degrees) have to contradict each other so even though we doubt, yet follow what our senses tell us it is possible to scoff at organised religions as we have to pick a side.

    Edit - Fixed my dyslexia
    Edit 2- ^ A bit more...

Scientificly we can describe (in general terms) everything that has happened in the universe from a plank second after the big bang until now. If any scientist tells that we know whats caused the big bang then are speaking with someone who isn't a true scientist. We don't what caused it, and there is a good chance we won't know in our lifetime. If there was any opportunity for a god to creep up in science the big bang would be where it would happen.

As far as numbers and the odds of life on earth go, I multiply zero by infinity daily and get a number out. The odds of life developing on our planet the way it has is only a miniscule bit above zero. In fact, most statisticians would say if you treated a number that small as anything other than zero you don't appreciate how small it is. The catch is the universe is infinite or as close as anything we know of is going to get to being infinite. In essence the odds of life developing is number that is staisticly zero that is ran through chance a statisticly infinite number of times.

Hmm after seeing all your responses I believe I should just take a bow and leave this thread. I still believe strongly in God but I feel also that there is no way to change your mind. There is n argument made that can satisfy every one. Although it was nice chatting about it, gave me a headache but it was nice. See ya on other threads. Toodles.

so because it named some cities correctly, it must be true?
you do realize that for an example marvel comics takes place in cities like new york, LA, london? does this mean that dr. doom exists? that the fantastic four exist? that there are 5 secrecy levels above the president of the USA in the military?

like i said, beliefs are only limited to what others have taught you...
try to follow agnosticism(knowledge, proven pure fact) instead of theism(belief, a "forced knowledge") and try to see our perspective.

the problem with religion is that it "divides" people (yes, kinda off topic), wherein one party will say "we are the chosen ones, we are the true religion" and the other will say "screw you guys, were going to heaven for following the true god"

if they want to know who the REAL god is and who is the one to follow, then why dont those two gods come out from god knows where (haha) and battle it out... the problem is that THAT situation is never going to happen...

    why?

maybe (yes, lets just give the other side some slack), its because no god exists

Why does belief have to be forced by others? Even if it's others that teach you it's still possible to believe something on your own.
I doubt any of the Christian forum members here believe just because they were told to.

And what other reasons could they have?
they found out the truth and realization when they discovered that religion? pfft

if you were taught a particular religion when you were a kid, and you tend to seek the deeper "truth" as you age,
then you're questioning you're so called "faith"... does that make you "true" christian (or any other)? doesnt worship mean to love unconditionally and unquestioningly?

the problem with religion is that people tend to follow "blind faith"-we believe, we just do. Whatever the atheists say, the religionists (lol) would just say *covers ears* "bla bla bla bla lies lies god exists", or if its a religion vs another religion: *covers ears* "bla bla bla bla ours are the true religion", no questions asked, right?

im an extheist (christian turned atheist), and thats because im agnostic, i look for the true knowledge
so i dont really deserve to be a christian

so any other christian who questions gods word... well.... thats up to you

on an amusing note, im scared now
