    We up north in CA celebrated Canada Day 3 days ago, but no one cheered FOR THAT?

    Actually it's not America, infact the official name used more often than not is United States. You could also complain about that though, because Mexico is also 'United States' :p

    I've always wondered what kind of holidays places like Switzerland and Sweden celebrate. I mean...I figure most European nations have a "We beat the Nazis!" holiday and some form of thanksgiving holiday...but what do mostly neutral nations have as holidays? Happy We <3 ourselves day!

    lets see, we dutch have remembrance day and independance day(4th of may=honor the dead in WW2 and 5th of may is for being free of the nazi's) we have sint maarten(appararently you are a saint when you share your cloak with a beggar) in which are children are going from door to door singing to collect candy. We have sinterklaas(like christmas for kids only) and my favorite one: queen's day, on which one quarter of the country is having a yard sale, one third is partying, and the remainder buys stuff on the yard sales
