No, just today my parents dad said that if I get one B on my report card I can't play computer this entire summer for even one minute. All this happened just because my dad saw that I got on the B-Honor Roll instead of the A-Honor. I got on the B-Honor Roll because my stupid math teacher doesn't check any of our classes homework, or she only gets to one table and spends the rest of the period talking to that table. I went to her but she said she wouldn't check my homework because it was too although even though it was still the same quarter. I won't get into even more detail; it's complicated. I'm just angry that my dad would say something like that when it's hard to work in such an unloving place. I hate my dad...he gets angry at tiny little things like me accidentally tipping over a cup and I didn't know it tipped over so he yelled at me, nothing even got soaked. And he always blames someone else for something bad. Like the time the metal strip on the side of the door came up. He says that I kicked it even though I know that I didn't kick it. And it has happened before without anyone touching it...

blame ALL your bad grades on him. if you get a bad grade, say its because he's pressuring you too much, you could even go as far as trying to get a counseling session with him (to show that your serious).

    just a thought...

If you ever think anything is hard- just get help, seriously. Ask friends to talk about it, talk to teachers, etc. You'll find that a lot of the forum-goer's, as well, have all sorts of knowledge that'll help you with basically anything you'll ever encounter in high school. Academic, social, you name it.

The one thing I share with every high school student is don't ever ask others about the high school experience. It will never be an overview of high school no matter how they try to phrase it objectively, it is always their high school experience which will be dramatically different from the other million kids.

That being said, my advice is think of the 12 years of grade school as one elongated 'thing'. Every year you're only expected to be one year smarter and one year more mature, that's it. Even in college, don't listen to professors or anyone else if they tell you they're going to treat you like seniors, only one year smarter, one year more mature and that's all they really expect no matter what they tell you the first day of school.

The only difference between high school and college, btw, is you get to sleep in late and a lot more freedom. The courses aren't harder, they're just the right level at what age you'll be.

I envy you!!! I studied and only got a 3.1 GPA...

Then I screwed up my first semester in calculus at college since I wasn't used to the classes moving through the material so quickly, and landed with a 2.8 for my first year in college... BUT I SHALL NOT GIVE UP!

In high school, join clubs, it's the quickest way to make good friends. I was in Chess Team and Robotics in my junior and senior year and did some tutoring my sophmore year. Also did marching band my freshman and senior years.

Clubs and sports too. I made like 13 friends through football alone.

It's basically a number that shows your average grade. For normal classes, A = 4, B = 3, C=2 and for Honors and AP classes (which are essentially college level classes) and A=5, B=4, so on. Basically they just add all those numbers together and find the average.

LOL man welcome to the club. However your dad loves you in the end and maybe in a decade or so, you'll see why he acts the way he does....

or it could be him having a short-temper like my dad too.

Yeah when i was in high school/middle school, if I ever had a B+ or lower in anything OR an A- or lower in math, then I couldn't play games for a month. That really sucked. Though I guess it helped me later on in discplining myself but still... I couldn't stand it lol

My dad has lightened up since then especially since I got into med school lol

naw I have to disagree with this. I mean if you're at your job, and you're being pressured to do something well by your boss and you do bad, you can't blame it on your boss. Dosen't work that way in the real world. I think it'll do darktemplar good :)

oh and if you're dad is asian, then that definitely won't work. i tried it too! bad things come outta that lol
