How do you check? Is it just an IP thing?

If so, what if one of my brothers wanted to join? We'd have the same IP and both get banned...

 

As far as I am not aware any brothers have been banned for multi accounting. Having multiple accounts is generally something that is caught when something else is going on, or you have done something to attract the attention of a global (all of which have access to the IP database). Your right family members could potentially be caught for having multiple accounts and hopefully that is something they would tell a mod should the situation arise.

I used to be able to see IPs in vis messages, but that option isn't there anymore.

You do realize that it's near impossible to change your online 'voice', right? So, unless your 'brother' types the same way you do (if he does, you're screwed), it's fairly obvious it's the same person.

Case in point: KuraiKozo and EonMaster be siblings. Easy to tell who's posting.

 

lol, kurai and I didnt realize that my IP had changed when I came home and one of the other mods went to ban the accounts when he saw 2 identicle IPs, then noticed the account names

Just wanted to point out that I might or might not have siblings who might or might not decide to pay the site a visit one day or another. Don't ban Meee plox.
