If Atheists Ruled the World

I wont respect somebody just because his ignorance is sheltered by the word religion. If you intently overlook scientific facts and logical arguments in the name of your religion then I take pride in being called brainwashed by those people.
Thats the problem with the whole new age thinking and relativism. People are so scared of arguing/intruding someones belief that they treat as if everyone had right to their own truth. Well we actually have ways how to find out whats real and whats just made up - namely sceince. If you still choose to be ignorant and biggoted of it, alright, thats your right, but do not drag other people into it, do not mix politics into it - which many of the people do. (namely the whole creationism thing in USA)
If youll rather have desinformation of people, namely children in the name of some pseudo-mutual respect then I cant respect you as a person either.

 

Yet, you do the same by criticizing them just because they don't believe the same as you or what you believe to be fact.

You also have to understand science is not exactly consistent in what is fact either as it is constantly changing and evolving as well. What might be considered impossible by science today could be fact in the future.

You ignore religion etc for the same reason religious people ignore your views, which makes you no different.

You are just as brainwashed as religious people then because you only chose to believe in what modern day science says is fact instead of trying to learn from it be open to possiblites.

You shouldn't judge people for what they believe no matter what it is.

I'm guessing nobody trys to respect the rules of this forum either these days which clearly says you are not to disrespect any person for their religion, race, etc. Not like I expected anyone on here to do so anyway.

 

So am I supposed to let people run around killing other people because their religion implies that? Am I not to 'judge' them? Thats what you are implying.

And thank you, science is in fact evolving and changing constantly, thats again a reason to act upon it as there are no dogmatic beliefs as there are in religion.

Please define 'ignore religion'. I dont ignore it. I investigated how/why religious people believe what they believe and act how they act and I concluded that its not justified. And I continue to debate with people on this issue.

And youre doing exactly what I said when I talked about the modern 'relativism' of truth. According to your philosophy I cant judge anyone, I cant criticize/argue with anyone who has opposing views, simply because they have opposing views. Which is non-sence and leads to paradox such as the one I stated in my first point.

 

You can disagree with someone without judging them or disrespecting them. However what you are doing is blatantly disrespecting them, not just simply disagreeing.

That is all I ask.

kk, not all christians are that way. I don't care if you think they're stupid, because they're intolerant. and you said you judge those of religion? Why not just judge the people themselves for how they act, huh? I know some atheists who are awesome, but i also know many are jerks who scream to other people their religion is wrong. Same with people who are religious. I will not stand for intolerance on this forum, nor judging someone based on it. Not all people whp are religious ignore facts or hide behind faith. PErsonally, i am catholic and i believe in evolution. I believe we evolved, i believe science defines pretty much everything. i don't believe that the entire world is just controlled by faith or love or something like that. You seem to think all religious people become extreme.

Though some people do act like that (the video), it's not true for all and i won't have disrespect for it. If i linked atheist or muslim people being that bad (and it makes my soul and brain die a little when i wath that) no one would tolerate it. and i am not tolerating this. Until you can prove you can discuss without judging someone, topic locked.
