    Being completely unaware of the value of any imperial money, I'm going to magically change what we're talking about.

    Did you know that the metals used in making silver coins used to, and might still actually, cost more than the money itself was worth? Also, some useful info, the weight of all silver coins is proportionate to how much it's worth. For example, a ten cent piece weighs twice as much as a five cent piece, etc.

    I thought it was only the small denomination coiins that cost more than their printed value.

    I'm not too sure. I thought it was just all the old coins, what with all the nickel they put in them, but I've heard it's true for the current coins as well, though I'm not sure if that's actually right or not.
