Please present me with this information. And yes I accept it, I could care less, especially about environmental science.

I'm more inclined to beleive it is the sun.

Whether or not climate change is being affected by man

I think the climatologists have it.

Guess we still need to work out what the hell affects the change of opinion in the general public because it sure isn't their fellow man...maybe its the sun...yes that would work

Pancake we are not talking about the cause but the contributing factors and the contribution by man has been agreed upon in the scientific community as a whole.

I already told you I'm more inclined to believe its the sun and I could careless about the scientific community as a whole, they also said the earth was flat, and heavier than air flight was impossible, oh wait a minute...

As this is going nowhere Ill try oldschool reasoning, lets try it from the opposite end: You do not believe that human activity does contribute to global climate changes?

there is as much proof for global warming as against. As well as a million inconsistencies on what cause it. There is not enough proof for or against it to prove we do anything. Volcano ash and smog pollutes the earth just as much, and have been doing so way before humans started doing it. I hate it when people don't even know enough bloody facts. You're not a scientist, you know nothing. I don't, either, but i admit that. Any scientist will tell you one thing about global warming: we just don't know enough.

Kurai thats the basis behind everything. How can we have arguements about anything with that approach =O

"Volcano ash and smog pollutes the earth just as much"
So you do admit that humans are affecting it which is the whole point. We're not saying its caused purely by human activity we're saying humans are helping it along. Obvisouly its been occuring since Earth formed but that doesn't mean its safe to let it occur at an accelerated rate.

Ultimately the danger is that the current attitude means that opponents or supporters to it will never admit when we do "know enough" (which we may already).

The problem is that we have too many people on Earth, majority of which are wastes of flesh. Natural selection needs to work better when concerning the Human race :(

Chernobyl is a slightly different matter.

This is willful destruction of the enviroment for profit. There's a movie called Crude, saw it at Sundance this last year, it's about how Chevron-Texaco basically effed up a huge portion of a rainforest, causing insane amounts of sickness and cancer, were convicted and sentenced to pay fines, and they basically said "F*** you, we're not paying anything"

At this moment, I agree. Solar I believe has the most potential, simply because it can be extremely efficient. Fusion would be nice, but imo, it's a pipe dream, it's not really that feasible. Cold fusion especially doesn't quite follow our understanding of physics (energy production with no heat byproduct is [as far as we know] not possible). I think we should make fission more efficient, and look into developing solar.

Or we could just have WW3, and finally use the nuclear stockpiles, that would get rid of most of the population.

One source of energy would could turn to would be geo-thermal energy, make the volcanos and hot spring areas give us a nice supply. Although we would have to develop a metal which could stand the tempature of the lava for extended periods of time or we could just invest more into fusion tech. That would save us ina heart beat.

Geothermal is not feasible on a large scale. Too many places are simply too far from hotspots, and drilling for them is ridiculous.

I guess you didn't realize that I was the one who started the topic about global warming by replying to renatus' comment that I believe that most of global warming can be contributed to the Sun going into a more active cycle in the past few years and that has also affected other planets by making them warmer and this has been confirmed by scientists, which by your logic must be true because it was officaly stated by science.

No where did we specify we were talking about the contributing factors, so stop trying to turn the argument in your favor by stating false facts.

Oh and here is an article on the sun thing. http://www.livescience.com/environment/070312_solarsys_warming.html

no - it was put in junk because it was about me not liking something. It was only latere the topic changed into global warming.

If i say i dont like something, then thats not serious enough to be in the lounge.

Lets i dont like syrup. Who cares about that? so i put it in junk.

That article is interesting but it does not state the sun cycles are causing "most" of the Earth's global warming, except for one astronomer whose theory is opposed by a climate physicist who carried out research concerning the same phenomenon.... Theres also the question of Russian oil propaganda but thats purely speculative

Why are you even showing us scientific articles (and misinterpreting them) when you've stated you couldn't care less about the scientific community!? I'm very confused where your belief stems from and why it is deemed a better theory than more widely believed theories

Look, while I do agree that the use of fossil fuels and other dangerous chemicals harm the environment your not going to change anything but posting videos on youtube and creating awareness. If you really want to get the American people to stop supporting these companies. Which by the way I do agree are very corrupt and are a threat to the world. Even if they don't cause global warming they are the center of a lot of corruption in governments. If you really want these companies to fall the answer is simple. Stop using gas, and start using electricity. Okay, some kid was able to build an electric car on his own with no engineering degree. Along with that they actually have electric cars for sale now, and depending where you live you can get one for yourself. If you want to make sure your home isn't consuming oil well then write your mayor, governor, congressmen, or senator and ask them to propose a bill to create a nuclear power plant which provides unlimited energy. Making people aware is just a fruitless effort.
