    Thanks Jon! I recently switched from P to T and have been using your build because Reaper harass is alot of fun and it has been working wonders for me.. Though I added a few of my own tweeks to your build :D

    looks good and all, but a problem here:

    what if the enemy goes 7/8 rax reaper since you're scouting so late? you won't know it and his reapres will come way faster.

    I wouldn't call the scouting "late." I will still catch his Reapers prior to him having his first coming out. At which point I will be ahead of him economically and able to build 2. Many games have come down to Reaper v. Reaper micro. My best advice is to wait til you have at least one more than him and make sure you attack first (and abuse high ground), you'll win.

    BTW guys just to drop your concerns about the Reaper build, I went 4-1 in placement (went into Gold) and the only game I lost was on scrap station where I couldn't do an effective Reaper build (and the sonofa***** proxied Void Rays and caught me outside my base). I'm moving up the Gold ladder easily with this strat and I've placed in Platinum 5 times (5-0) with 2v2 and 3v3.

    Another hilarious variation of this harass against Protoss is to build a bunker with your scouting SCV while his Zealots are chasing your Reapers. This will let you stand up to his first and second Stalkers by just loading up in the bunker. LOL

    I have no intention of being disrespectful but there are quite a bit of flaws in your tactic. In most P v T games, Protoss tend to go for fast cybernetics (sometimes even before the 2nd pylon) to either get the early sentry or stalkers. Decent Protoss players would have learned that massing Zealots early game to a Terran is a terrible idea since well microed marauders or reapers can take them out so easily. About 1 stalker can take out 2 or 3 reapers if microed so reaper rushing against a protoss doesn't work that well anymore. Also like how someone added, queen and speedlings can repel couple of reapers as well. Against Terran, if scouted well, instead of getting that first marine, getting a tech lab and marauder can easily defend reaper rushes.

    (Anyway does anyone know how the ranking system works?? I've had 4:1 in placement match and got placed in Diamond last time and after the patch, I got into Plat even though I had 5:0. :S)

    insane reaper bo:

    at 8 make your rax/when finished i use the worker for scout
    then gas/when rdy instant get worker in it
    2 more worker
    tech lab
    depot
    1st reaper
    reaper speed upgrade and worker
    one more depot to finish the wall
    with your first reaper u go haunt worker or zealots/zerglings, with speed upgrade they have no chance
    DONT loose your reaper! when u see toss is just pumping zealots u get more reaper and finish him, when he is good he gets fast a stalker and u need to make marodeurs
    when your enemy is prepared against your reaper u pull them back
    you will have now another 2 rax rdy and more income(eco)
    with 2 rax i make meanarmy, with the 3rd i get some more reaper till i have ~5
    now your timing is your joker, you can wait for his attack or attack by your own, DURING the meanarmys are fighting u send your reapers haunt worker and buildings, and again DONT loose them! reapers are very fast use this strenght!
    when i get terran with random my reapers are nerving the whole game! but this tac is working in 2on2 much better, becouse u have more to hunt xD
    dont forget your macro/tech! im not verry used in terran mid/late gameplay

    this is easily countered by one cannon maybe two cannons, which is what i do if i find myself against terran (or i ves lock him but thats cruel and so funny)

    It seems very obvious that you are a low tier player after I read that. I'm guessing you were in Silver league? There is no reason why you should sacrifice the macro by getting 8 barracks than getting tech lab way later. It is so much better to create SCVs first and time the build order so that you have just enough gas to build tech lab right after barrack finishes.

    Also no Protoss in the right mind would not create early stalker as reapers are deadly against Protoss early game. Even if you do produce Marauders to counter it, go read my thread on discussing how to defend marauder pushes. Besides by the time you scrap an army, I'd have forge and cannon near my workers after seeing your reaper.

    I like how you're trying to contribute to the forum and I'm not trying to disrespect you or anything but I want to make sure other new players would get the wrong impression.


    (Jon's build order is actually quite good but reapers are so much easy to defend. However, it's still an option.)

    Investing 1 cannon in a base isn't a bad idea >.>
    Besides, I wasn't implying that I was getting Cannon in like first 6 min of the game more like 10 to 12 min (sorry I wasn't clear about that). Just stating that I would have a cannon up by the time eudaGOGO pushes and tries to reaper harass for the second time.

    don't build cannons to counter reapers as they can easily maneuver around them, use stalkers/sentries, you could use that cannon money to build another gateway. cannons is only for defense at your entrance and defending against air/dark templars at your main base.

    Hey Jon,

    I've been playing around quite a bit with reaper builds, as early pressure is something I think is really valuable. And as you know I'm sure ever second counts when you're rushing, just 10 seconds can give you a huge advantage if you get there before a stalker pops out.

    With this build when are your reapers popping out? (in game time) I was messin with a 10 rax build and I was able to get my first reaper out at 3:12 and a second at 3:52. Plus it seemed like I was only 150 minerals behind or so the 10 depot macro build.

    I'm having a problem watching replays atm so I couldn't check yours to see the time.

    It's around that time (maybe a little before, maybe 3:00 flat). But my build also has a better economic advantage over the 10 rax build.
