Just go right along with it dude. Stop thinking of her something different than human. Confidence is key to everything. Think of it this way...being the guy...you have to take the initiative, which means that YOU have the choice of making things happen instead of waiting for it to come along...to me, being guys means we got the better end of the straw :)

@Protosscommander: I can tell you this much... firstly, closing in emotions makes you nuts at a point. Just go for it, if she disagrees with you... well then that's it. There's more fish in the ocean, more birds in the sky, more leaves on the tree, more... well you get it. :p

Secondly, it takes a pretty paranoid chick to relate your doctoral degree with you unveiling your feelings for her.

Man... just go for it. :good:

yeah SirBaron gave the best advice any of us can give you

    And this:
is very true to me as well. It affects my movie choices as well...I much prefer a movie like Monty Python and the Holy Grail to Scary Movie 4 or other movies that have stupid humor in them (to some degree...Anchorman, Dodgeball, Zoolander, etc are all silly, but I love them)

Ok, maybe Monty Python was an unfair comparison as it owns; that was a bit like nuking a zergling...but if you've ever seen something liiiiiike...Drowning Mona, or Snatch or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (those two are dark humor), or Mystery Men, you have a general idea of what I like in a "funny" movie...not necessarily the ones that are like "Penis. Sex! LoLoLoLoLoLoLoLoLoL!!!!1," but the ones that are funny in a subtler way

I know what you mean Nikzad, another movie that has a lot of smart humor in it is the Ocean's series. I especially liked Ocean's 13...the "Do you remember Zapata?" joke just made me cry my eyes out in laughter :p

eh I had pretty intelligent girlfriends and they pretty much disliked Monty Python... I mean it is a bit dry. I love British humor in a sense, but sometimes I do have to force myself to laugh. I still think the best one is Life of Brian hehe.

yea i like all kinds of comedies whether it is stupid or intelligent. Whatever that makes me laugh! ^_^

Mitch Hedburg. ALL. THE. WAY! Seriously any girl that's into his humor I'd marry. And any guys who love his stuff... I'll um... allow any one of my female friends to marry?

Anyone empathize with me on this one? I think he's one of the most original, unique comics out there right now. I was SOO upset when he passed away.

@ Flytingtiger - omg Life of Brian....that is some seriously funny sh*t :p I just love Monty Python altogether

Also, I go with any movie that makes me laugh also, like Anchorman and Dodgeball just made me lmao. I'm just saying that a lot of times, smart humor is just way better and funnier

@ ItsMyShip - No, I don't remember the Zapata joke...Zapata as in the Mexican Revolutionary? but did you get all the Godfather references in it? I laughed so hard at those (mostly alone in the theater, nobody else seemed to catch on)

@ FlyingTiger - yeah, I didn't laugh that much the first time I saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The more I watch it, the more I laugh. The Life of Brian was pretty good, although I only saw it once...would you say it is the same way with it? Judean People's Front or the People's Front of Judea?

@ Archlimit - May he rest in peace. The king of one-liners. Truly a monumental loss. :'(

yeah i have to agree with flying tiger with monty python it is kind of dry ..... some british comedy is really good thou have you guys seen the office on bbc that show is hilarious i also loved mr.beans physical comedy when i was a kid ....that show used to come on PBS.....yeah thats right i watch PBS alot..

......but sense of humor depends on personality not intelligence i think some people might find the type of comedy in scary movie hilarious rather than the comedy of miss little sunshine or arrested development (i reallly dont know why they canceled this show). Some people like the one liner punch and some people rather "think" about it ..........one of my friends who is in med school loves movies like movie with sex and fart jokes rather than those low budget dark comedies that arent mainstream and he is really smart

@ArchLimit .......Mitch Hedburg is so funny as far as one liners he is god remember the one about the koala bear infestation .....LOL....to bad he died early in his career

Abigail Breslin: What are you guys talking about??
    Alan Arkin: >_> Politics.
Abigail Bresling: Oh. *puts headphones back on*

    I laughed soooo hard

@ Nikzad - Yeah that's the guy Nikzad. It was referenced when that one guy was undercover in a Mexican factory. That reference started the whole rebellion at the factory :p And yes I did get them...so funny. I just love the Oceans series...

@ Millions - I get what you're saying. I mean, I love shows like Family Guy, even though its sort of half and half with its humor. At the same time, my love for a show like South Park is more because the majority of its jokes is smart humor. I think my favorite though is when a show is witty, like Scrubs (which I guess you can also say is smart humor.) Oh and btw, its Little Miss Sunshine, you got it backwards. But I LOVED that movie...it was one of the funniest movies of the year imo.

omg the vast majority of the entire series of South Park is smart humor...I love it so much as well

I never noticed it until South Park did the Cartoon Wars episode with the manatees, but now that I saw it, whenever I watch Family Guy, I always pick up on how totally random and non-sequitir all of the cut-scenes are...but I still love the show

I remember that part a little better now, didn't Casey Affleck say something like "Zapata wouldn't have taken this sort of thing" or something to that effect?

Haha, well, the random cut-scenes is the reason I love Family Guy. It's a mix of smart humor/pop culture/and the occasional dumb humor.

South Park is just perfect....the Scientology episode is I think the most perfectly executed episode I've ever seen in any show...the corelation between Scientology, Tom Cruise being "in the closet", and the R.Kelly "Trapped in the Closet" was just beyond perfect.

And yeah, It was something like that. I loved that part. My sis, our friends, and myself were laughing our asses off while only about 1/3 of the rest of the theater got the reference

Normaly personality depends on intelligence. And some psychologys says that intelligence people dont focus so mutch on sex but more om love and and fellowship.

yeah but there is also a study saying that intelligent people have the most sex... and i am not making that up my physiology professor gave us an article about it.....but i do agree with you intelligence does mold your personality to some degree but its not the deciding factor since there are countless factors

according to my philosophy... DaygoWop = A LOT of sex
A LOT of sex = Highly Intelligent
Therefore: DaygoWop = Highly Intelligent ;D

I dunno about that one. My friend is as dumb as a brick and he gets laid almost every day lol.

I'm pretty smart, and i haven't in almost 6 months.
