If Blizzard wanted to, they could have easily put in a few little details that would have clearly denoted a different unit. There are lots of units that looked the same, but were obviously completely different. The Marine and Firebat, and to a lesser extent the Medic, and the Archon and Dark Archon are some examples. They look the same, because in principle they are, but they're obviously different. There isn't even a slight attempt to have this for the Zerg mutations. Besides, even if that was the case, so they were forced to have the mutations look entirely different from their predecessor, why would they turn their back on that in StarCraft2? Blizzard wouldn't just change an entire visual aspect of a team just because they're got the technology to do so, they'd continue it on from the original.

Spider to crab isn't actually that much of a big difference, especially when considering the shoddy graphics of StarCraft1. I don't see how this one's a crab either. For one, the Lurker doesn't have large pincers, and secondly, crabs don't have separate heads. One of the main things that people complained about was how the Lurker had such a big head, but then they also say it looks like a crab. Which one is it?

I've never said I won't like the new model, in fact I've said multiple times that I'll be happy if it turns out for the best, but they could do a lot worse and there are other things they should be focusing on. Again, I'm not against making the Lurker look better, which a lot of people seem to think, I'm against changing things that really don't need to be changed at this stage. However, just as you've said that although I like the original model I may like the new one more, you'd have to ask yourself the same thing. Even though you didn't like the original model, you may dislike the new one even more. The point is that we won't know whether we like it or not until it's released, so no-one can say it's a good change or a bad change at the moment. Seeing as we can't comment on the outcome, I'm commenting on what we know now.
