Not if you have multiple worlds. They can sometimes 'leak' into new world spaces.

Not really. It's usually bits and chunks occupying the same coords. I've had half a hut I built show up in a new world.

But, all I have in my old worlds are some very small bases. Nothing like lakes of gravel, seas of mushrooms and floating trees

It's a direct coord cross over iirc. Even if you haven't changed it any.

Just died from lava really far down in a place I can't find again... Quickly QQed that game and refuse to play it anymore because I lost 18 diamonds and 2 diamond pick axes. -_-

Whenever I've mined out a cavern, I kill all the torches there.

Another I used to do before I discovered it's many uses was to leave a breadcrumb trail (if you will) of redstone.

How do you know if you've mined out a cavern? o_O Far as I can tell a cavern will never be mined out until there is nothing under the earths crust but lava, water, and void. o.o

I've mined out a cavern when there are no more resources and no more links to unexplored cavern. However, I do not remove the torches because A) they will become lanterns with the next patch and B) if I somehow access the cavern on accident whilst digging, i want to know that I have already explored it with my pre-placed torches.

And I just lost another 10 diamonds because of a skeleton monster and me dying in a newly explored part of a massive cave system which took me an half an hour to find again. -_-

I feel like you should plan more accordingly before you go spelunking.

Need to not be so stingy with creates. -.- How good is armor though? Compared to no armor. Been to lazy to make any.

Armor takes damage instead of you.

It's a good thing to have.

But how effectively? And in what ways? From falls? Or just from attacks? How long does it last in terms of wear and tare?

Very effectively. Anything but falls. Depends on the material.

from any form of damage, the length at which it lasts depends on the material.

From reading this thread from time to time, I'm becoming more and more tempted to try this game.
So going to get addicted if I do, though. Sigh. :/
