Never posted in this thread before, so an old quote:
People often say that for one reason: there is no chance you will ever get her. -I have had 2 nice looking girlfriends, but no real people look like pro models. All photoshopped anyway.-

    I'm with Rennie.

I'd go for extremely slim over extremely obese any day, and my preference doesn't change moving away from the extremes.

All right she is horribly ugly. I can not stand horribly skinny girls that look as if they are anorexic. Just like I can't stand horribly obese girls.

Seeing that makes me sick but it reminds me of how my immage for my self is bad. Because of models I've developed body dismorphia. Meaning I have a horrible sence of if im big enough or lean enough. Btw im a guy if your confused.

This picture just shows how horrible the standards are set for the casual person to look "beautiful" when most of the time its all just photo shopped up as well.

Western Culture for whats attractive and what isnt is horrible. Especially living in Souther Cali. Everyone has to have that beach body.

Tell me about it, I go to a university right next to a beach so I know what you're talking about.
But I've been attended a modeling seminar for fun since it was free. To be a normal model doesn't require that much, there are model jobs for slightly obese to very short people and provide a reasonable amount of pay to live off as a career.

However, to become a super model or runway model, the requirements are a VERY slim body and a height of about 5 feet and 9 inches (for females). The reason for this strict requirement are because the fashion attire at runway shows all are 1 specific size. The designer does not have time to alter their designs for each individual. So you must be VERY Slim or less. Unfortunately, some people take it too far.

Its really not hard if you put your mind and body to it :D.
I mean, im not reccomending you do to the extent that she has. Because try to realise that the majority of men dont find her skinnyness attractive at all. The only real nice thing about her is her face tbh...

Im just saying that exercise, going on walks, doing sit ups or press ups, or hell, to state the obvious, going to the gym really helps after a while, even if the cause is genetic, you can still get through it.

I'd love to be a model, it has always been my dream career.

And to be honest, my figure isn't noticeably different from the girl in the picture. And I am 5'9", which as suggested above is a good height for making a career in professional modeling, but I am just not pretty enough to be a model.

I have a healthy diet, and this is just my natural figure, so to be told that I was too thin for modeling would be a real insult to me, because I am perfectly healthy, and this is just how my body happens to be.

Of course, many people are genetically thin. I was born pretty damn thin myself - but managed to bulk out at the start of the teens (hurray). Being thin shouldnt be something to be erh.. Ashamed of, or gross, im sure what people mean is forcibly making your body thin like the woman in the picture must have done :O. People are simply pointing out how some members of the fashion industry go too far in that respect. Which is actually rather strange because the extent that she has gone isnt generally seen as too attractive to many men.

at first I thought this was about actual models, like Warhammer 40k or even battle ships. But yeah, skinny women have no apeal to me, nothing but bone and what is atractive about that?

Low self esteem is a real killer isn't it?

I only find her face attractive.

It has nothing to do with self esteem. Appearances are a reality, not an state of mind. I don't have the looks for being a model. It isn't a career for very average looking people, its for people who are naturally captivating. I don't have that quality.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You may not think you're particularly good looking, but some might have a different opinion.

Well yes, ofc that is the case, but in respect to modeling careers the beauty they seek is a very... Stareotypical one.. So to speak, not bound by a beauty created by a persons personality may i add.

Which is generally another reason why the fashion industry is really quite a pile of crap.

My GF is as skinny as her, although from birth, and she eats a lot. Hell, but that girl abused diets. Refusing to eat when thousands starve to death per day cause they ain´t got nothing to eat....

Actually, like I've said in a previous post, perfect looks are only a requirement for super models who want the full on publicity experience, AKA millionaire models. Average people can get into a normal modeling career or side job if they are fully aware of how the industry runs.

Believe it or not, being a model isn't all looks. Most jobs want experience, as in have taken classes. You can be the most gorgeous person, but without proper skills, a lot of jobs won't take you. There are modeling jobs for about every kind of person, from skinny, to normal looking, to even overweight ( + size models). Age is also not a factor, I've been to seminars where they had senior citizen divisions.

So if you wan't to experience the modeling career, I don't see why you can't. Some classes even provide grants if your financial status qualifies. The seminars I've attended, there were a VARIETY of people. What they look for is, personality and "proper" education on how the business is ran.

I wouldn't quit your day job for it right at the moment, but the experience of it IS available for almost anyone.

You're not supposed to see bones; that's bad. What is with the women who want 0% body fat? Breasts are fat, curves are fat, hence the twig people are very flat. I find it disturbing, and I also find somone who is that insecure about their body to be a turn off. If you can't feel good about yourself then how can you feel good about anything else?
