I gave Vampire like 3 thousand minerals so she could get her probe, and I had like 6 or 7 thousand set back in the bank waiting for a spending spree. You're telling me that it is all gone?

 

Well I suggested that you look for a new shop, but apparently some mods don't think that discussion is important enough to warrant its own discussion.

ANYWAYS, if you have already found something then tell us more LK.

Ok so here is an update for you guys, right now I am playing around with a new system that should have all of the features of the old system plus a more powerful banking system that comes with a loans system as well a the ability for users to resell items they have bought. Also, one thing I find most beautiful about this system is it gives the ability to modify everyones minerals with an editable function that uses variables that include current posts, current reputation and more. So when/if this shop is brought online everyone should have an amount of minerals based on past contributions. Also, for the vB haters part of the reason has some power is the ease with which to find replacement plugins like this.

I still won't make any promises about what will absolutely be there when everything is brought online, but I figured I should tell you about what we are currently playing with. Also, don't expect any ETA until we have something that is nearly online because the major headache won't be setting up whatever we decide but updating the forum template to accomodate it.

 

A loans system? heck yes, Im so not going to abuse that

Does it still give people the ability to decide what pets will show, cuz thats one thing I liked about the recent shop.

 

Eh I am not 100% sure yet but the bank may have a repo system set up (or worse case scenario it sends an alert to a mod you aren't paying your bills...).

As for pets in postbits I havn't had the opportunity to mess with that yet because it requires that we download one other thing (which is Jon's territory) as well start working on a modified template.

 

Now I'm guessing it'd be given via an automatic system, so my question is, what would be the scope of judging contribution? Can it use vBexperience data? Can it use # of thanks? Thread views retroactively? That sort of thing...

Excellent news btw, and thanks for not keeping us in the dark.

 

TBH I don't know what all will be able to be done as far as interconnectivity goes with other plugins, either way though it should be better than vbplaza. Also, I may have spoken to soon about a trade center equivalent however you still be able to give other members items directly as gifts and other things.

Wow, that new bank system looks comlicated, I have a couple of questions about it though.
1. Why does it deduct 1% of minerals per transaction? Doesn't that seem a bit much?
2. why is there an upper limit to how many can be stored?

bonus question: are those, and the intrest rate, just the defaults and subject to chagne?

 

None of the numbers are set in stone. Almost everything number wise is going to be changed before everything is brought online. Also, any minerals that are made under the current set of numbers will be wiped before everything is locked into stone.

 

I figured as much, does the shop have to be online for you to modify it though, it seems odd to me that a feature that isn't fully implimented yet is running.
