Damn. I'd written a huge post about Cane Toads, which're an unimaginably destructive introduced specie in Australia, but lost it, so I'll just reiterate the ways they're killed, because that was the best part of the post.

Trodden on, shot, collected and frozen, salted to death, collected and sold as purses, collected, processed and then sold as liquid fertilisers, death by Cane Toad golf and Cane Toad cricket, death by Cane Toad races where some contestants attach rockets, etc, to the Cane Toads which're killed either by the acceleration or the splat, and even if they survive they're obviously killed afterwards, and being buried, both while they're alive and to dispatch of dead Cane Toads, provided they're whole enough to be buried in the first place.

Then there're other ways to mass capture them, being using UV lights and a loudspeaker system mimicking their call, but there're still about two hundred million in Australia, and both their numbers and distribution is growing.

In fact, more recently, there was some discovery made to basically turn females into males, as many frogs and toads can change gender, in order to stop them breeding. I laughed so hard when I first heard that.

So.... Yeah. Cane Toad cricket anyone?

I had to check some stuff, and also looked for a few more ways of killing them. I also found that a politician from the Northern Territory had moved to legalise the more 'sporty' ways of eradicating them. I'm not sure if it was actually legalised though. Even if it wasn't legalised, I doubt it would be enforce. Also, I'd imagine that Cane Toad golf would be one of the quicker ways to go, provided the 'golfer' doesn't suck at golf.

Also, I just found out then that due to the Cane Toad infestation that particular species of snakes have evolved to have smaller mouths so they can't swallow them. Snakes... Evolving to have smaller mouths... ****ing Cane Toads.

I knew all that Itza, but how do you know that that's one of those toads, and in Australia?

Because they're gigantic and they have certain markings. They weigh over a pound.

That's not a big toad, actually. I don't know about markings so I believe you, but for all we know the toad could be in a country where it's considered endangered :p

While possible I doubt it. They'll eat anything. ANYTHING.

I haven't actually killed any myself. Fortunately they're not too common down in Sydney. Mainly Queensland, but they're spreading like wildfire.

And yeah, they're easily recognisable. Everyone knows what a Cane Toad looks like. And most people know that if they see frog's eggs that're in a chain, as opposed to in a clump like frog's eggs usually are, that they're actually toad eggs, and you should fish them out and chuck them on the grass.

Quoted for emphasis. ...And anything that'll eat them will die as they're extremely poisonous.

I think the general consensus is that this thing isn't even like a mosquito. They're just bad for the environment, period.

At least mosquitoes have a spot on the food chain. Cane Toads do not. They're just completely bad.

Lighten up BoP, it is about a picture, though I suspect it will soon go off topic.

I am light. I laid off on the lead casserole.

If I were mad at this point posts would be disappearing, this is just a friendly reminder that the thread is about making fun of others ugly mugshots and not frogs.

Actually, none of it is photoshopped. My new moniter has a built in webcam, and has a facial tracker. This makes it so it can add all kinds of effects onto it. There's like 6 different hairs, 4 mustaches and 5 glasses. I can also be Will Smith or a cat
