i dont download any movies that i can think of, but i do download anime fansubs. as long as it is not licensed in america it is legal to download, and since 95% to 100% of anime sucks you dont want to pay for it and be disappointed : P. in japan, once a show has aired on television it is legal to download. that would be alot more reasonable, dont you think?

i cant think of a reason where i would need to download unlicensed software, but i wouldnt make a moral issue out of it. i will of course buy starcraft 2.

on the other hand, i never pay to download music, but i dont feel guilty about it anyway. the only people that get sued are generally stealing creed or britney spears. Unauthorized distribution helps music like death metal and grindcore, because people generally find new music by word of mouth (what are you listening to?) and sharing music (check this out). plus we are too poor to afford popular music anyway ^.^

whenever i go to a show i will usually try to get a free demo CD from a band i like or pay 5 bucks for one. if i'm going to be able to afford food for the week i might even get a shirt.

    to download i use isohunt.com

I don't pirate music per se. I tend to take music from friends who have pirated it. I watch anime, but that's not piracy but I do watch one show that's on the BBC via the internet. That might be piracy, I'm not sure if is licensed in the US or not, I kinda think it probably is even though its not aired here but I'll be damned if I'm going to wait for some british hack to decide to put the show on BBC America.

I do download a few movies. Never ones that are in theaters since if there is a movie in the theaters I want to see badly enough I kinda like the theater experience. If I'm home my parents rent quite a few movies so I have no real reason to pirate movies. However, when I'm at school, I have no dvd playre and its inconvienient to go to a movie store anyway so I generally stream any movies I want to watch. I just watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail again last night for example. Or last week I watched Fearless. I stream them off various sites and watch them, or if I actually download them I watch them while they are downloading and delete them afterwards. Its just more convienient.

Is anyone losing money because of this? No. I'm not going to spend time or money renting movies while I'm at college. I'd sooner watch TV or play a video game or read a book. However, since I can watch movies without paying anything or any inconvienience I do.

I've met a couple of bands who WANT you to pirate their music. I was at a Thursday show once, and they literally told everyone to download their music illegally because they don't care. No particular opinion here, I just thought that was something cool to point out :p
