If a kid's really determined enough, he can watch anything he wants regardless of age restrictions. While long-term exposure to sex can cause some pretty nasty behavioral problems for children, violence and killing are way worse so it SHOULD be the other way around. Too bad it's not. :p

In the U.S., there is a simple test to decide which political party you most likely identify with: if you think sex is a problem, you're a Republican, if you think violence is a problem, you're a Democrat.

Because I feel that neither is as important as quite a lot of other things, I am registered as an Independent. :p

Why do US parties discriminate between which one is more of a problem than the other? I don't get it... If it was truly a problem then it would be a little more obvious than only a certain party knowing it.

Because it's just more fun to solve hypotheticals than problems.
Solving problems involves work. But choosing the best hypothetical only requires philosophy.

And I'm definitely a democrat by that standard >.>
Ask any of my nice lady friends.
But the issue is actually much more complicated than just that...

The real damage from sex comes from stupid people raising babies.
One side is trying to win a propagation war.
The other side is trying to keep us from imploding.

I for one, am thankful our governmental attention is divided to BOTH issues. I don't want to be surrounded by idiots OR implode.

I think this has to do with how Republicans are more conservative, and Democrats more liberal

since Republicans are stereotypically more conservative in their values (and tax rates for big business), many of them are religious (and therefore Christians, as that is the religion upon which the US was built upon) this brings up all those issues about sanctity of marriage and original sin and conservative ideas regarding sex and virginity and purity and blah blah blah

Democrats, on the other hand, are more liberal, and less connected to religion than Republicans, so they gravitate more towards more social issues, such as violence. Since Democrats are stereotypically less religious than Republicans, I think their issue is with violence, something with which people of all faiths (or none) have problems

In other words, I think the conservativeness and religiousness of Republicans causes them to focus on the private subject of pre-marital/teen/gay/any sort of sex, whereas Democrats focus more on a societal problem such as violence because it is more universal and applies to people of all faiths or those who are not affiliated with one

Not to long ago, I didn't care either way. Than I heard first graders talking about and describing things worse than anything i've seen or heard in any movie, song, or game (lewd things, obviously).

    All of this in class

    The teacher did nothing.

Sadly, I also know it's a problem near impossible to fix. Unless, of course, we have sex-ed in kindergarden

Haha!! Such a funny episode. This is the reason I love South Park. They take certain things in society, make it humurous because we know that's how it works in our consciousness and then end it with a moral.

Very true. I hate that some people say South Park is antisocial and without moral, those people are just too stupid to read between the lines. :)
