I find a few things wrong with your ideas zerg.

First, against the colossi. The can't be blinking everywhere, blink has a cooldown time of a few seconds, so they are going to get hit.

Second, against siege tanks, it depends on what mode they are in. If they are in siege mode, just blink up to them and they are dead. If they are in normal mode, it would be a fairly even match.

Siege would be at a large distance plus don't the Siege have no limit?

Also if the Stalkers were everywhere the Collosis beam would die down due to the space between each Stalker.

siege mode has a minimum range, or else it would be too powerful.

It has a minimum range. And stalkers dont have any "direct counters" yet imo (but the stalker itself counters armored easy imo). I think it will be a all-around fighter like the Dragoon was if it get some range upgrade, so that i can fight units like marines who seems like an ok counter. And as the last post just have proven, i think that SC2 will be about having a very different army with atleast 5 different units. Thats more then SC, where terran could fight with tanks + vultures + goliathes vs Protoss. Now you will need more units because of heavy counters like imortals and stalkers. i realy like that!

Now I'm going to need to spend more on my micro/macro abilities. I always tend to mass 2 or 3 units in sc. It was always much easier that way and I usually faired pretty good in team battles.

In sc I always massed hydra/lurker/defiler as zerg, tank/marine/medic as terran, and zealot/reaver/HT/carrier as protoss.

In the Stalker's very introduction we saw a very viable counter to the unit. They were taken down by Zerglings, and Zerglings don't even require gas. If the Stalker is ever to kill anything, it has to get close enough to the target to fire a shot. In doing this, it allows other units to catch up to it and start attacking it before it can Blink away.

The only way that it will be able to micro out of danger is if it is always running away from the scene of the battle, and if it's always running away, it won't be posing much of a threat.

I think Siege Tanks will be a very viable counter, too. The Siege Tank will have an attack range that is much longer than the Stalker's Blink range. If a Stalker starts outside the tank's range, and Blinks in, it will still be within range! It won't even make it to the safe zone underneath its minimum range, and it will have to push its way in on foot. A good Terran player will support their tanks with other units, sitting at the heels of their tanks, so even that woukd probably end up being suicide. Pure Stalkers simply can't take on a dedicated defense (of equal relative cost) on their own, it's not what they're built for.

furrer: that the Stalker doesn't have any "direct counters" is actually a good sign. It means that the game is being built with depth. SC2 is being designed to have far fewer obvious, single-unit counters than the original, meaning battles will be much, much more interesting to watch unfold. Instead of producing a different set of units to counter something, players will be able to use their current units' alternate roles, switch up some formations, and rapidly change tactics in the heat of battle by bringing up one of the "soft counters."

10-neon i also think there will be counters, but no "direct" counters like AA vs guardians or mothership and darkswarm vs mm. And thanks for repeating my last post, as i said that you will need more units/ you can play more strategies.

I think it you will see like 9-12 different units on pro level that are used in every match. Therefore there will be many different strategies, even more then in starcraft broodwar. I think that's because of two things.

Not so many direct counters (firebat isn't zergling/zealot counter).

And many different roles(like the banshee, the new colossus, the Thor. the banelings)

Back to the stalkers. I think they will be a good all around fighter that will be used much. And i think it will be used most vs Protoss and Terran like the dragoon in starcraft broodwar. But mass stalkers suck!

Mass Stalkers would still be dangerous like a mass of Hydralisks. Everything has a counter tho, mass Stalker would get owned by mass Hydralisks since the Stalker has like +8 or something against armor but Hydralisks are 'fleshy' so the hit bonus doesn't come into effect.
For Terran they could counter the Stalkers with Marines pretty easy.

Mass stalkers isnt dangerous imo. Zerglings/hydralisk owns them. MM owns them. I mean not own, but they are good vs them, but no DIRECT counter

Everything can own everything tho. Mass Hydralisks own but get owned by Reavers. Of course mass Stalkers are dangerous as they have decent hp/shields, nice agility, nice size and decent attack.

One thing I learnt of SC, is that massing can only be a good tactic if you know your enemy has nothing to counter it with. And I also think Stalkers wouldn't stand against small units. They are tough but have small hitpoints.

I just hope they won't be any stronger than the dragoon. If they were. people would mass them since they can attack both ground and air units.

As long as it is the same strength or weaker, massing them will not be a problem other players will have to face.

The Stalker has 120 hp 60 shield, (source: the original gameplay trailer)
The Dragoon has 100 hp and 80 shield, (source: the gameplay)

So.. I don't know how it is gonna be weaker, maybe other units will have mosre hp, or they will do more damage.

What makes it weaker is that it trades 20 hp for 20 shield, and we all know that shields regenerate, which makes it generally more valuable. Some people might say that the hp is superior since the shield takes full damage wether the damage type, but Blizz told us that Protoss units regenerates shields like 4 times faster when not involved in combat, and what would better fit the harrassing Stalker?
It could easily blink out of combat and shortly after return with full shields again. So the lack of shield will make it a little less durable than if it had 100hp 80sp IMO.

i agree, just blinking out of combat recharging your shields then fighting again will be a huge advantage. I am going to be, and already are a Protoss person and i love to mass a few different types of units such as a air-ground combination.

The intresting is that they arent as effective against MM, because their bonus vs armored units? They seem stronger vs armored units then the dragoon, but weaker against zerg and MM.

So you don't think there will be many stalkers used against zerg players? I don't see the immortal being used much against zerg either since the most of the zerg's attacks are too weak to activate the hardened shield.

No i don't see it used much against Zerg, at least not as much as the dragoon was. It still has an OK damage output, but we don't know if some of the zerg units are armored, as we don't know what armored classifies.

Zealots, Dark Templars, Twighlight Archons, High Templar, and Colossus is what I'd say is most effective against Zerg. Of course Mothership would be a very good Zerg killer.

Then the units which would have the specialized effect would be Warp Rays on their Hives and Ultralisks.

Units that would phail I'd say would be the Phoenix, Stalker, Immortal (except against Ultralisks?), Nullifier (get owned by fast Zerglings), Carrier (Mutalisks bounce the attack from unit to interceptors)

    What do you think?

Against zerg the Protoss will ant to tech quickly o get acess to the High templar, Phoenix and Colossuss because thos 3 units are dynomite against mass units.

Against terrans then they would use the Immortal and Stalker
