also, i am still working on the prime evil backstory, the posing as gods angle has been done far too often.
Perhaps some rank reward system for good behavior, but the higher your rank, the more brainwashed you become

so erm, the next history bit, maybe i should think for a good reason for people like Remy(y'know, s'posed to be moral) so actually support this

but all was not well in Simbob society. As the amount of invasions grew and grew, fighting was all the valiant Simbob warriors did, and eventually their society turned into a caste system where the most powerfull ones ruled over the normal soldiers. Most of the powerfull Simbob supported this, because the normal soldiers only stood in the way during battles, but a few warriors, led by Light, rebelled against this. Light, Angel, Nightcleaver and RT managed to free a small army of Simbob warriors and went on to war against the Simbob.

no remarks about me having Light as a rebel leader?

while the Simbob were having their little civil war, Lenga and some less the reputable allies were still out trying to find new allies. They found these in the form of the great dragons and the goblins on a small planet in the milkyway(not earth though). Their leader, the noble marinecorp, was quick to see the danger that the two demon races presented to his species, he agreed to built an army. Over the course of a thousand years he gathered all rescources on his world to create a huge battlefleet, manned by people who spent their entire life training just for this purpose.
The alliance was named the second Phoenix alliance and went to destroy the central temple of the prime evil gods. This proofed to be a huge mistake. Furious at this sacrilege, swarms of mighty archangels pierced the sky, seeking only to destroy the infidels who had done this to their gods, setting aflame the fleet that took a thousand years to build. But yet the anger of the angels hadnt been quelched yet, as they set to burn down the goblin planet in their holy zeal. Only within the nick of time could Lenga, his companions, and the mighty dragon lord Marinecorp escape, but the rest of the planet was turned into ash.

i'd like to note that the second and third alliance stories are pretty vague in any of the official sources, more like: oh rite... we had some alliance before that got slaughtered within days, actually we had two, but that wont stop you from joining us rite?

yeah, that makes a lot of sense

anyways, a couple oh millenia went by(maybe the story would be more believable if i changed the timescale from ten million to ten thousand years? yeah, i think ill do that) without much happening to our heroes. In the rest of the universe hell was coming down though, of the council of seven that led the demons only four were still alive, and they had lost most of their territory to the Prime Evils. On the other hand more and more Prime Evils stopped attacking the demons because it was so much easier and more fun to attack each other. the only Prime Evils still fighting the Demons in the end were the two remaining archfathers Cristallus and Ghost(the third one was Nova who died at the hands of Fenix)
Something happened to one of the remaining demon lords though. No one is really sure what, with theories ranging from him discovering the last remaining bit of primordial essence to him absorbing the spirits of all who died. Whatever happened to him is not important though, the effect is that this demon lord, named Guro, became a virtually unstoppable force, killing the lords of wind and water just to try out his new powers. After fully experimenting with his powers he decided to travel to Simbob dimension, intent on crushing them first and then the rest of the universe.
A gigantic battle ensued. I really mean freaking enormous. A couple of thousand years of built up rescources descending on a single enemy target. And for a first time in history the Prime Evil Archfathers fought alongside the avatars to combat this threat. In the end Guro was slain, but not before cutting holes in reality which scattered most of the elite Simbob warriors(by elite warriors i mean the extra-powerfull ones like Kaaraa or Darkone, most of the others were already crushed) accross the demon dimension and Lenga towards Clonoia(dun dun dunnn?)

well, since obviously no one lieks the story anymore, ill just stop posting bits untill i am done. Lets hope its not to late and anyone still checks this thread for my other snippets.
So i was in Turkey recently, and i had some time to think up new ideas, particulary for cooking and blacksmithin+engineering+clothmaking.

Cooking meat and other simple recipes in most RPG's is pretty boring, in most games its simply dragging the meat to the fire. There are a few more complicated recipes, but in a game food is an essential rescource, so you dont want to spent too much time on creating it. WoW tried to solve this with the need to buy spices at a general salesman, but this is merely really REALLY annoying. Adding spices to the mix is a pretty decent idea, but not if you have to get them everytime, or carry them around. So i got the idea of getting spices through quests. If you do a cooking quest, the rewards will be a specific spice for your "spice palet". These spices can all be used infinitely, some recipes require more then one spice, some recipes require none, but most meat and fish stuff requires a spice.

    and for blacksmithing+tailoring+engineering.
I personally dont like mid-level multiplayer stuff. It just seems to be useless, if you spent the time in the dungeon in leveling instead, your gear would almost improve just as much by simple quests. Thus i got the idea of training trade skills by doing dungeons, and i figured out a way how. The prime source of raw materials would not only be coming from nodes, but rather from taking loot apart. Say, you kill a supreme warrior of the seven golden sons of the sovereign state malakai, and he drops a sword. The sword really really sucks, so you simply take it apart and get some raw materials. Now outside of a dungeon the raw materials probably arent good enough for you to advance your skills(if your skill is the level its supposed to be and not WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lower) so the only source for good materials are nodes, but inside a dungeon, the worthless pieces of weaponry, clothing and bombs are a lot better, thus allowing you to raise your skills a lot faster then outside a dungeon.

    good idea or not?

    yay, 0 comments.

so i had an original idea for armor. The system everyone uses is that strong classes can wear better armor then weak classes. That system always felt kinda generic, so i thought up a new one. Every class can wear both light and heavy armor, heavy armor has several disadvantages though:

    -reduced casting speed while moving
-No special movements(double jump, wall-walking, etc.)
    -reduced AOE

especially the second is significant, since most attacks are fired in FPS, and all attacks are dodgeable.

    Lol, it lives
I like the system Oblivion uses. You can wear any armor type, but wearing armor you are good with increases other skills.

    guess who's bumping what?

anyways, i had two nice dungeon ideas i wanted to share.

idea#1is for a complete dungeon, an attack on one of your cities by Armaggedon.
its an event-style battle and consists of two phases
phase#1 consists of you sneaking into the enemy camp, and sabotaging enemies, by
    *burning amunition depots
    *poisoning food
    *place mines
    *pour sugar into vehicles
    *other

phase#2 is the remaining troops attacking the town, the number of troops and their composition depends on the number of troops you took out during the first phase. Some player groups do better against some compositions then others, so decide carefully what you are gonna focus on with sabotaging.

idea#2 is just for a single boss, one of Eclipse's generals.

The battle takes place in an area without enemies, the boss just takes a single hit to kill. But the room he is in is moving. You need to get in close enough to first break through his shield with 1 shot, and then go through the hole you made and kill him. The room consists of several domes spinning around, each larger then the next one, like the layers of an onion. Every dome has 1 hole which you can use to go deeper. But withing all the domes are lethal objects like razor blades, explosives etcetera, which you need to dodge because 1 hit, and you are dead. This room takes full advantage of the advanced movement mechanics in ShadowAngel, since without them, you'd stand no chance

Now all we need is a game engine.

I like the second idea. Bit of variation over the common "tank attacks => healer heals tank => tank attacks => mage does nuke spell => tank attacks etc" methods that go on for half an hour before you see the boss' health bar go down.

you'd need some heavy graphics-adjusting possibilities seeing as how that room kills anyone with any lag.

    must
    remember
    update

    great
    ideas

while my original in-game story was decent, i decide to move the story around a bit, so it covers some epic parts that used to be in history(fully revised history due), so that i could craft a truly epic story. The starting zone/epoch for ze people:

    Humans:
Novoya Russia, an old soviet science center was forgotten by all, until a group of scientists moved in, trying to recreate the Soviet union. In this very facility they created augmented humans, of great strength, longevity, agility and speed. But, 30 years ago, before the scientists could unleash their plans, a fleet of great spaceships arrived over Asia. To protect themselves, the novoya russia scientists sent you, an augmented human, to stop the ships. Watch asia burn beneath vast masses of ships, while the miltary of the entire world unites to stop them.

    Simbob:
You are a machine, born from a machine. Yet you are so much more. You are of an ancient race, predating any being of matter in this realm, or any others. jealous of your power, much was stolen from you, and all your allied governments did not stand the test of a real war. Yet you have always survived, in your glorious capital. Yet today, that comes to an end, as a demon of great power finally breaks the barrier between his world and yours. Band together with warriors of legend and stop the beast before he destroys all.

    Clonoian:
You are free. every other clan around you has fallen to the elementals long ago, but your alliance is still intact, even after a decade of war. Your heroes are feared and praised througout the lands, but you can not stand to the elemental fleet forever. But when an alien is found, the great lord of fire comes to your realm to apprehend it. A tale of great heroes standing up against a force of nature.

    Demon:
Once more the fleshweels turn, once more the shrieks of pain are heard. Yet you derive no enjoyment from them, for when your race was corrupted, You were protected by the demon king ItzaHexGore. You and the other undefiled are now shadows within a city of suffering. But you do not stand alone. When allies from a distant past arrive, you decide that the time to strike is now. And not even the sky itself is set on fire by fury of gods will you stop for a second.

You know, I was thinking of making a SC RPG based off the D20 system. Maybe I will, who knows.
