Absolutely. My point is a sig like mine, which is 4 words and a 8KB 250x50 pixel image (as well as an avatar), I feel, does a fine job of getting some personality across without being intrusive. Maybe 100 pixels in height is fine too but there is a point where too much of a page is devoted people's sigs. It's almost like a law of diminishing returns.
