spam-flooding

We need solutions to this problem pretty quickly. An extra non-american mod could work, since Fenix seems to be the most active now and spam only gets deleted when he's on, which can leave spam floods for up to 20 hours.


Kuvasz mentioned flood protection earlier as a potential measure, any way to implement that?

 

I repeat: we can't delete all the posts of a user who has more than 50 posts. Additional mods would not help in any way. And spam only being deleted when Fenix is on is quite funny.

 

Captcha needed for users with less than 50 posts to post would work then?

 

Can't you manually remove posts until the count is only 50?


Or shut that option off? Our 2 mods are pretty reliable.

 

The 2 most recent bots have 100+ posts. I am not deleting 50+ posts individually.

 

And no one can shut that restriction off?

 

idea: make a check-box list-like thingy of posts. kinda like email. check all spam stuff. delete.

Let's see...

1. visit bot's profile and bring up all its posts
2. open every post except 50 in separate tabs (these bots have approx. 120 posts)
3. tick these boxes one by one (ticking and closing the tab removes the tick)
4. delete 50 ticked posts, repeat 3. and 4 until only 50 posts are left
5. tick 50th post and "delete as spam", on next panel tick "delete all its posts" and "ban user"

Can I take your post as volunteering for the above?

I'm working on a solution which is essentially an upgrade to vB 4.2. Trying to do so on limited time. Kuvasz, which profiles are these that have 100+ posts? I have to do 50+ posts through the control panel because the system can't handle that many.

The solution will come along with a lot more upgrades.
