I hope the in-game graphics for Metroid: Other M catch up to the cinematics

 

Haven't you seen any videos yet?

 

Only the E-3 announcement video, and the in-game graphics for that sucked pretty hard.

 

I thought it wasn't really that bad for an early demo. Prime also looked way worse in the early videos/screenshots. It turned out to be the best Cube game ever. At least in what I think makes a good game.

*sigh* I hate Nintendo. In the end I always buy their systems just for 1 or two franchises, and the rest is crap. No idea if the Wii will get even cheaper, but I want my Metroid fix.Don't even want to think about what I'm missing out on with Mario Galaxy and the upcoming Zelda. >_<

 

Never really cared for Mario games, and I've like the portable LoZ games better (with the exception of Twilight Princess - the Wii controls really made it for me, even if they were...clunky). However. Metroid. OMGMETROID. The times I've played and beaten Metroid Fusion are definitely in the double digits. I like the 2D sidescrollers more, but Metroid is Metroid.

 

Oh man, you ain't kidding about Metroid Prime. I just hope that, even though Nintendo intends to make Other M look like classic Metroid games, they carry over as much from the Prime series as they can. All of the unlockable artwork in those games was amazing.

Oh, and fun fact: Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes are being ported to the Wii as part of a box set of the Prime trilogy.

 

With the new Wii controls, of course. Quite nice. I still haven't played much of Prime 3 yet. Only the first world or so over at a friend of mine. It wasn't bad, but I still prefer the first 2 games of that trilogy. The whole hyper mode addition made it way to easy. And yes, I know there's an extremely hard mode after beating the game, but he hadn't unlocked that yet either.

As for Fusion: loved it. To bad that the final boss was a piece of cake. Nightmare was awesome, though. My favourite 2D boss of all time.

One more thing about Prime 3: it's a shame that the Kraid boss meters made it into the final game. At least if I remember Kraid correctly as being that gigantic dinosaur-ish thing. Read about it somewhere, and my friend said that it wasn't in the game.
