Would be cool to see a poll of your ratings. I haven't seen it, but I personally suspect that The Simpsons work better as a series. Maybe I should check it out though.
You are right scarecrow, I personally thought the series is better than the movie. In the movie, they didn't focus enough on springfield and many of those all time favourite springfield residents. Even though an eipsode from the series is slightly better than the movie, I still recommend everyone go and watch it. It is well worth the effort and time
I love the Simpsons! They make me laugh. "Cream of toast??" -Homer "Mrs. Simpson made me gay!" -Rod (or was it Todd?) "Mmmmm...Sacrolicious!" -Homer "Napien stimulates your brain's napping centers, and attacks your body's awake-ajins."-Sleep Drug Commercials
lol, the Simpsons are great. Longest running TV show in the US. Too bad people don't watch it as much as they did 10 years ago.
Eh, but then again, the simpsons have done everything, so you can't really get too out there on originality....as South Park has taught me
This is true. The Simpsons has addressed every possible issue in human society. And one of the reason that their ratings are declining is that they have less meaningful episode nowdays. It's clear that they've ran out of ideas. All they do now is put heavy emphasis and exaggerate Homer's stupidity. I think that should start "recycling" some of the better old episodes. One of favourites are when Homer is hypnotized to pretend that he is 10 years old again. Then he started screaming out of control. In the end of the episode they located Smithers' father's body. That episode had a very good plot, and the development of the plot, and the climax is very well done, not to mention intelligently blend humor into the story. So maybe make an episode with a similar plot would be a better way then showcasing the sillyness of Homer. Also, how about Springfield actually hosting an Olympics? The last time the IOC was angered by Bart's jokes and left the city. Some of the older, more brilliant ideas can definitely be expanded further, and make into new episodes.
Not really. The thing with South Park is that its in a lot of ways smart humor (not saying that you're dumb dragoon ). Personally, I think South Park is one of those shows that actually got better as it got older. Take this last season for example...I would give nothing but good reviews for all except one episode. There was also the Scientology one that I thought was the most cleverly and well done episode I had ever seen in any show. South Park goes with the times, that's why it can keep ressurecting itself.
i agree with ship. South Park definitely goes with the times and does a damn good job at making jokes. it really isnt all about gays and racism anymore. Some of the stuff is just downright "wrong" (i.e. when the little kids had to play against the detroit red wings for the cancer child...heh) that it will make u laugh for hours.
south park is much more original than the simpsons.. trey parker and matt stone really tries to do something no body will expect.. and they often reach their goals.
the simpsons as of now aren't that great. there are better shows going on... at least the movie was accually very nice. i didn't expect homer do give us the finger. rofl.
the movie was decent, the only thing i didnt like was bart cuz he would never be that sensitive. But I did like it cuz it was different. Spider pig, Spider pig, doees whatevr a spider pig does! Hes not spider pig any more! He is Harry Plopper! HAHA!
futurama > simpsons the movie wasnt as great as i thought it would be...*ahem showing bart's **ehem ehem** ahem*
I saw the movie twice, and it was funnier the second time watching it. The first 15-20 minutes were the best IMO
