The Gurubashi did drain them however. They were just still alive.

And gnomes do not get druids. Worgen do however(apparently they struck an alliance with the shen'dralar at some point between the second war and cataclysm)

No, it doesn't....

Dead night elf=Wisp, and since the Undead seem to keep their identities (names, in some cases remembering their past lives), you can't just throw a soul in them.

I guess a caveat, you can make a banshee out of High Elves, which is I guess similar to Undead.

But then we'd just get banshee's since banshee Night Elves share the same model as High Elves.(There are quite a few of them in Azshara)
