I'm saying there could have been a misunderstanding. Are you sure it wasn't something like this inventive lego creation: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3086/2438948963_7da93f2df1_m.jpg Edit: lenga, is that the image in question? Edit edit: the 'laser face' was originally intended to be racist, btw. Now it's not really regarded as such by anybody who uses it.
Banned, you seem to want to live up to your namesake, so now you can for 7 days. Hopefully after that time frame you are ready to be reasonable, otherwise don't come back.
Except it was used with racist intentions, and that's what it's grown to represent in such a context. It's similar to bringing up petrol and Aboriginals, or something. Simply petrol on its own is not a racist topic or anything, but bringing it up a particular context, such as bringing it up in relation to Aboriginals, is extremely racist and offensive. Most likely, because there's no other grounds for giving it to them. Again, it's like giving an Aborigine a can of petrol. No it's not. It's not just as simple as blacks taking offence to watermelons or anything. It's got a huge history related to it. It's like if whites were commonly depicted as overly liking waffles and chicken in order to make them look like total ********s. If that's the message that the correlation between the race and food, or whatever, has been portraying for the past however many years, then that's what it's going to come to mean.
just to clarify, the image I deleted was of a smiley face altered to look like a caricature of a black person (blackface) that was looking at the same smiley face that had been altered to look like a watermelon.
