Which is why an extreme of either end isn't a good idea. Pure socialism just gives to much power to the government. While Capitalism gives to much power to the people. There needs to be a balance between the both. A pure socialist government wouldn't work.

And as I said I agree with the current health reform. I never said I opposed it.

It's pure communism won't work, socialism is the compromise between them.

In a socialist economy the products industries make do not belong to the people who buy them but to the government. Who redistributes them. In Capitalism The products belong to who ever purchases the said product. Socialism is not a comprise its an extreme of its own. An extreme which often brings a nation under the control of a tyrant. History shows us this.

    no

in a socialist country the government provides certain services to its people with money provided by taxes, these services can be free food for the poor, free health care or other stuff like that. People still own the stuff they buy. I have no idea where you got your information.

Holland is a socialist country. China calls itself socialist but is more actually just communist.

There has never been a communist country. There is no communist country and there msot likely won't ever be a communist country.

communism is one of those things that sound really great on paper but when its actually happening you realize you've done something horribly wrong.

Actually china has been turning to capitalism for quiet a while now. They keep the oppression system and the government structure in the old communist style but really, to utilize their immense industrial power, they dont mind 'betraying' their 'ideology'.
Anyways please get back to the topic.

Obama isn't going to abandon it. I'm guessing hes going back to the drawing board. He put to much focus on health care during his campaign. To completely abandon it would be political suicide.

Well, he's going to try and press the 'other' factors of the reform, which will please the republicans who understand it is really no change, and keep quiet the dumber of the liberals who think they only lost a small part of the reform. If that fails and I hope for America's sake it does, he'll go back to the drawing board, or decide he only wants one term anyway.

Also, China is communist in nothing but name.

****ing nitwits. All it takes is for a guy in a suit in front of a christian cross to say the words 'healtchare reform' plus 'socialism' and half of USA automatically refuses to support it. Are people really that brainwashed from the 50s and 60s?
The republicans are denying large portions of americans their only reasonable chance for bankruptcy-free healthcare. Patriots my ass.

If you really feel like that then why don't you call your state senators, and congressmen and complain. If Obama gives up on this reform like this I won't be voting for him again.

Yes, lets vote for someone who has been against the reform all along instead. That will help us fulfill our agenda!

If you really think that'll work, there's something I need to show you. It's called 'The Real World.'

To all the opponents of the health reform in the US, I present you this:

O, Are there people running for president again? Are all the presidential candidates for the election three years from now against health care reform. Please tell me where you get this information. I mean if you can see the people running for the presidency three years in advanced thats amazing.

Also, you would be surprised fenix how much it actually DOES help. You know what doesn't help? Sitting on your butt watching it happen then talking about it amongst friends. YES THAT GETS STUFF DONE WAY TO GO!

Also, if you pressure your state governments to provide generalized health care on the state level it could go a long way to pressure Washington DC into doing this as well.

I never said that did help, unlike yourself. You still labour under the sad impression that the US is a democracy. It is not. It is a capitalistic republic. This means that when people talk, politicians do not hear. What the do hear is two bills rubbing against each other. In our form of government, money talks far louder than any amount of the populace ever will.

News flash people, Obama isn't doing jack. He's already lied about many things including pulling troops from Iraq, ending the patriot act, stopping wire tapping, and he has voted against many gun carrying laws and voted for gun restriction bills as well as talked about creating a civillian army here on american soil (secret police anyone? nazism ring any bells?). His sad attempts to providing health care solutions is just to calm the people's unrest; it makes me want to vomit. As far as I am concerned, Obama is just a good speaker and a great bull****ter, but in truth he is a puppet to the REAL government.

If you want real changes, you'll have to get a gun and rally with a bunch of people who also have guns and start making your demands and declare them unnegotiable.
