    ...

The whole income tax argument was already dismissed several court cases over the years. Also, it's rather silly, since society is payed in tax money.

Oh, you won't pay your tax?

So, you don't have to pay for the road you drive on, the water you drink, the firemen putting out your house, the police hunting down whoever robs from you, the school system you attend(ed)?

    You're too good for that?

    Tool.

But Kent Hovind says that you don't have to - oh wait he is in a prison for tax evasion...

No you're the tool because you're paying an unconstitutional government administration a part of the wages you are rightfully entitled to while I was smart enough to take my case to a court of law and prove to them that I don't have to pay my income taxes to the IRS, and I am happy to say I haven't payed any since.

Maybe I like to have well maintained public services? I mean, if you wanna drive your car over straight-up dirt roads, that's your thing, but I figure, if I'm using something that I don't own, the least I can do is support it.

Gals, and gens; think about this... the American public debt, as of April 19, 2010 has reached $12,888,499,165,979.92 (and yes I did look that up), and continues to rise at an average rate of $4,160,000,000 per day since September 28, 2007, and you are the one who has to pay for it. Well, there are many things I don't agree with or like that my government is doing, so why should I have to pay the price because my government is incompetent of its leadership and worse, corrupt? That is why it is written in our constitution that tax is a donation to the government. Should your government fail to represent you in the way it was created for, then it is your free choice not to support it with the money you earn, and are fully entitled to. Is sales tax not enough to pay for our friendly public services? In our establishment, the government is made to serve you the citizen, not the other way around people.

Not me, I don't support this half assed piece of regurgitated turd bubble of a healthcare plan. If it was universal healthcare like when healthcare is free or ridiculously affordable, then I would be happy to pay my taxes for it. I don't believe it will ever happen, the country is too broke.

If you don't like the way your government spends money vote for somebody else. There is no reason why you should always choose between the Republicans and Democrats.

Oh and can you point me out to the bit of constitution that supports your statement? I would like to know what the wording is exactly.

I fail to see how the national debt should affect my willingness to pay taxes. I mean, I've been told in history classes that having a national debt is not a bad thing and gives the gov't some flexibility in the economy. A national debt isn't a strange thing, as most developed countries have huge debts.

a lot less big then the american one though. And not growing so ridonculously fast. But shouldn't a large debt logically result in more taxes? So having a huge debt is not really a good excuse to pay less?

i agree with drie. tax=good. huugeeee tax=bad. but i guess you can't really help that. the gov't has a lot to do and they only get so much money from people. and things like space projects, stimulus packages, medicare, military support, road work etc costs a lot. i just think the gov't needs to more carefully regulate what they spend and where the money goes. They just throw around 9 digit figures like it's no big deal and it bothers me because that's my money, our money and if they're going to use it, they should learn to invest and spend wisely. and then people get mad when they have more taxes. it's obvious why =/ it's because our gov't isn't keeping good track and is just spending stuff here and there. we need to get a president in office, republican, democrat, anything i don't care, to start keeping track of money and get a surplus again. we can't keep accumulating debt like this. it worries me our country runs on such a large IOU system.

    Money=Bad.

    There, I said it.

People should succeed on merit, not on how large a number that actually means nothing is.

Except that money is the best way how to run the economy. Surely in an utopia we could think of abolishing it but then I would also abolish democracy and instititute meritocracy.

Merit, while good and should be rewared justly, can only get you so far in this world. You need something of value and that's tangible. Like gold or a small army.

    Not really.

Greed is a vice. All material wealth does is feed that greed. One who has always desires more. Destroys the concept of Utopia.

I must say i've never been a fan of the concept of a Utopia, from my persceptive, its just impossible for every one to work together in perfect harmony. Because humanity is bat-**** crazy, we dont have a hivemind that governs us. Its survival of the fittest and I put myself first, is how most people think, but if it does somehow does come to be, then bravo good sir. Though probability says its never gonna happen.

But greed does have a silver lining, it motivates you, it drives you to get it, and when you finally do the feeling of acomplishment is gained.
