@ Darktemplar_L. Actually one of the main things McCain had going for him was his experience, and that Obama had none.

@ Everyone saying that just pulling out and just leaving the Iraqi's to suffer the consequences, I don't agree with that at all. It's the invasion that caused the situation, so the Iraqi's shouldn't have to suffer the enduring bloodbath. Also, why do they deserve it? Just because they live in Iraq? What if you guys were living in a war-ridden country, and then the was a mass evacuation and you were the one who had to try and survive the bloodbath that was the struggle for an unstable military dictatorship? Keep in mind that living in Iraq, or anywhere whatsoever, doesn't mean you're evil, a terrorist or anything. Iraq isn't populated by evil extremists.

Also I agree with what Imagine said, although I'm not sure if I'm in favour of the invasion in the first place. Regardless, suddenly evacuating now, leaving the country in a worse position than it was when they invaded, would be pointless and accomplish nothing.

    Oh.
So why is there a foreign army in this country?

What did accomplish this invasion so far, beyond taking control of the oil wells and domination of the area's building projects?
That is not because Saddam Hussein was a bad guy that you can do all that you want with the country.

Irak's war was just a huge waste of money and lives, and clearly shows the USA's addiction for oil.

I just notice that you see less reports about the events.
So it's possible that there is less negative stuff to report yes, but it could also mean that you pay less attention to this topic, or that the coverages in this area are in "better" control.

Because it's extremely unstable and there are extremists. Does that mean that everyone there is an extremist and that they all deserve to be abandoned and left for dead?

If you'd've read what I wrote instead of reading what you wanted to read you'd've read that I was against the initial invasion. Aside from that, Saddam Hussein was truly an aggressive tyrant who was accused of commiting war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

The reason they're still there is because it's extremely unstable and, as it's already been said, a withdrawal now could easily result in a bloodbath of a fight for power, leaving the country worse off than when they invaded.

As for the thing about the oil, I've heard two things. Firstly, I've been told that the oil in Iraq actually discouraged going to war with them because it threatened to potentially sever their oil supply, and secondly, that Iraq was already giving several countries discounts, so if the US were honestly after their oil, would have simply bought it at a reduced price.

I find it surprising that you're concerned about it being a waste of lives when you suggested abandoning everything, leaving them in the midst of an unstable bloodbath and fight for power. Why is the war a waste of lives when evacuating wouldn't be?

because Iraq was one of the least extremist moslim countries in asia before the americans attacked, people from other countries came there for parties and hookers, and i think America has done enough already to destroy that country, though i will not say that it was purely about oil, but more about misplaced fear, and later on misplaced humanitarian aid

I think the worst part about McCain was Palin, that srsly was one of the dumbest politicians

    EVAR!

If I recall correctly, we are over there in accordance with the principle objectives stated by the U.S on the abstract "War on Terrorism"

If we took control of the oil wells then why was their a recession reflected in the high prices of gasoline in the United States and abroad? Why would we dominate the area's building projects when we are the ones who are funding them. If anything, the "regime change" in U.S. foreign policy was made by someone named Clinton.

Are you serious? There have been no more attacks on U.S. soil after 9/11 by terrorist organizations thanks to the hard work put forth by the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, the military and various other agencies. Also did you forget that China and other countries were becoming economic powers? Did you forget that the demand for crude oil was greatly increased because of their industrialization?

I would like to consider myself pretty knowledgeable of the events happening in the Middle East. Let's see what sources I have; 1.) AKO with the Early Bird News. 2.) First hand accounts from friends and veterans who have served or are serving in the "Box" and "Stan" 3.) Fox News and other affiliates (even if they are biased)

So I guess I pay less attention and I should start believing the yellow journalism now!

Anyway have any of you heard about the Communist flag being raised in a rally at the White House? Have you heard about the stock market plunging in the midst of Obama being elected president? Disappointed I am. Where is the media scrutiny on this? Oh yeah! I forgot! The media is just a giant marketing tool and George Soros is up there!

Obama you had better hit the ground running when the transition is over with the Bush administration. This is a period where softness cannot be revealed!

    You're not.

If you would have been, Ben Laden would have been caught a while ago, and the whole Al Quaida thing would be blown miles away and ages ago. But surprisingly everything keeps going on, as this would help the previous government to endlessly run their military projects, dictated by the weaponry lobbies that helped it to be elected.

Just a comparison between the budget of the invading army in this region and the one of the people/extremists/whatever living there and fighting, and the list of events that occured around, clearly show that there is no goal into ending this, but just to stay there.

The "war on terrorism" is just some mental pollution to keep the attention of the citizens away from the real problems.

If the USA would have really wanted to end with that terrorism, they would have sent much less soldiers to deal with the opponents soldiers, and a bunch of bankers and lawyers and diplomats to deal with the bank accounts of the organisations that run them, and deal with the problem at the root. What they did was finally just a technological exhibition and experiment. ie a waste of money, but what make me really sad is not much that money, but that some people keeps on believing into that b#llsh#t and are proud to pax taxes and die for such ridiculous fake crusade.

He was just a puppet set there amongst others by the french government, in order to have preferential prices for the oil. The americans then took the opportunity of the 9/11 event to "reset" all the contracts in the region.

For the people who ran the 9/11 attack, the invasion in Irak was just another tv show.

I cannot wait for the conference of Obama tomorrow (correct me if I am wrong) to know his positions regarding these points. I am not sure if anything will really change in Irak though.

The other country is actually India, and what actually worries China is power, not oil.

The invasion for oil is speculation. This isn't. The fact that Iraq was so oil rich discouraged an invasion, and if they were after oil, they could have bought it at a reduced price.

Also I love your proposal to invade with bankers, lawyers and diplomats. That oughta get those extremist organisations on our side! It obviously couldn't result in them just massacring them, taking them hostage or taking the money or anything. They'd just be able to walk up to their front doorstep, knock on the door and talk about it over some nice refreshments...

And as for the Al-Qaeda thing, that's a completely different situation. On top of that, they've already managed to disrupt their control, they've been removed from power in Afghanistan and captured most of their leaders. The reason they haven't caught Osama is firstly, he's been hiding as part of a hidden organisation for the vast majority of his life, unlike Hussein where they basically knew where he was for most of time and had a lot more leads when they didn't, and secondly, he might have already died.
