the thing about animals is: from an evolutionary standpoint they are much more pure then humans(less interference from society) thus most of their brain capacity goes to natural responses and instincts
if i wanted to be an animal, i wouldnt have enough brainpower to want to go back

wait... so you dont ever want to know what it feels like to be a Dolphin or a Elephant? who both are very social animals and are just about one of the smartest animals around as well.

Animals mainly use instinct even the ones that are "social" and "intelligent" They are still no where near the same level of sentience as humans. I mean an ant colony and bee hive is "social". Even that is based on instinct similar to birds weaving very complicated nests it's not because they have conscious knowledge of it it is because it its bred into their instincts to do it. I really don't think you want to know what being an animal is like despite how cute and cuddly and "neat" you think they are.

Well, I think it is still kinda on topic because it pertains to werewolves and them being animals etc. Now if we started talking about communism then we would be off topic, well unless it was a communist werewolf :p.

Haha, thats awesome Major Willy. Reminds me of Hellsing but that has Nazi werewolves AND vampires. Now if ti were like the werewolves in Hellsing then maybe I migh consider them being better than vampires but I think we should go with the tradiontal modern beliefs of vampires and werewolves.

hrm.. traditional 'modern' belief heh? which is in favor of vampires since there is more stories/books/movies about them(and therefor changed them more often as well) instead of Werewolves, specially since they gained magic powers.

you know? in the very, very beginning Vampires never had any 'magical' powers, they were beasts driven by their hunger for blood, having pale skin and are fanged, they couldnt fly, they couldnt becomes bats or mist, they had immortality against time, but then again they were undead, weak to any holy symbol and place and mirrors, couldnt get near garlic, couldnt get into a house unless invited first, a wooden stake either killed or paralyzed them, and couldnt cross running water. interesting tho that they werent weak to sunlight most of the time.

and then with Werewolves, they were usually people that made contact or a pact with dark forces, they usually turned into a normal looking wolf but was a beast if they didnt volunteered to be a werewolf, while those that made a pact had a normal human mind while in wolf form, were weak to wolf's bane and a few other plants.

    now look at modern time.

Vampires could fly(either levitate or bat form), turn into mist, can confused people, usually could enter a house if they want to, didnt care about running water or mirrors, still have immortality (tho that might because they could be undead), gained faster that normal human healing, gained more strength than a normal human, gained more speed as well, have a normal human mind that(usually) could choose to hunt for blood or not. is weak to holy stuff, and sunlight and thats usually the most common thing across most modern vampires. and now lately they have been given more magic powers as well.

and now Werewolves, they gained faster than human healing, strength, and speed, usually does not really look like a wolf even if in 'wolf' form(this is the most common thing across modern werewolves), is weak to wolf's bane a few other plants and silver, and about 50% of modern werewolves are mindless beasts when in wolf form. and thats it.

hmm through 'evolution' to modern time i say werewolves were shunned and beaten every time they changed while vampires were given a piece of cake(or large bag of fresh blood) every time they made a positive(for them) change. we need to give the werewolves a piece of cake to you know. *go gives a whole cake to a pack of werewolves*

No darkone, I am not. I'm talking about the Hellsing manga and OVA series which has Nazi vampires and werewolves. I don't even know what Bloodrayne is other than a bad vampire movie.

I think it would be better to go with the current modern beliefs than going back picking lore and myths that favor either side. Going with what is currently common beliefs of them is fairer imo than going around picking out old lore.

The movies suck yes, but the games were awesome.

I haven't seen the OVA for Hellsing.
