The boiling part was just satisfying my need to say it.

And I draw the line of purple as purple, not blue.

you guys are taking this too far... I just wanted to know about blood inside your body without any disorders or external factors! Also, ItzaHexgore, how is this thread complete nonsense? Your the one making it into complete nonsense with your blood in space theory. Also, I never meant for this thread to become funny, simply to see what people know. Also those people I labeled stupid, I even wrote not to look down below to any other post under since it could change what they put, if they put blue then they did it themselves. Even those who said they did it because they wanted to be funny are probably lying to cover up their lack of intelligence (no offense).

Maybe you should've said so in the first post then?

Also, you're calling everybody who chose blue stupid, put it in your sig and then saying "no offence"? You serious?

If that was the case, I presume you could have posted a picture like this, asked what the colour was, and expected to get the same answer, hmmm?

    1. You set people up in a public poll so that you can blatantly label them as being stupid in your sig...
    2. You're completely ignoring what they actually have to say by focusing everything off your opinion, your own interpretation of a loose-ended question and the poll's outcome...
    3. If they were supposedly so stupid to pick 'Blue' then it's equally stupid to feel the need to create such a thread in the first place...
    4. You don't even seem to know the facts yourself...

    1. It's not a theory...
    2. It's obviously not supposed to represent the blood in its natural state...
    3. The vacuum is merely the means of obtaining pure blood, which is in fact blue...

Yes, and they've argued it themselves. You've completely ignored that by focusing entirely on the poll's outcome and no by what most of them actually have to say. On top of that, you consciously changed it to being a public poll so that you could label each one specifically as being stupid.

    Speak for yourself (no offence).

This has gotten way out of hand. Itza, please either clean this up, or lock it.

I wouldn't say that. The conversation is still largely on topic. Not to mention that Darktemplar should at least be given the right of reply.

    If you insist.

However, I think it would be best to null the arguement, before it gets more heated.

I'm not the one making this into a heated debate... I always make polls public and I haven't made fun of anyone specifically besides the ones that said it themselves they chose blue, and even then I wasn't insulting their intelligence. Also, I didn't make this poll just for my signature, the idea just popped into my head after about a week after I started the poll.

ItzaHexGore, you take things too much word for word and use anything I say against me. Every little freaking detail. I'm not the one making this into a big deal. I'm not the one who revived this old thread!

I don't understand what your trying to say with that disgusting picture.

I didn't set people up in public. Like I said earlier, I make most of my polls public. I am not completely ignoring people's opinions and comments, I respond to them. Also, like I said before I haven't even insulted any specific person besides the ones that had actually told everyone since everyone knew anyways. Uhh... I don't understand what number three is asking or saying. And what facts would I not know? That blood is inside your body and not in a freaking vacuum? Tell me some stuff I don't know.

Your blood in a vacuum theorem is just exaggerating everything. Just like I said earlier you find every little detail, hole, or opening in my information and use it against me. In this case, me not specifying that I mean blood in your body and not in space. Pure blood is not blue! It's the hemoglobin that gives it it's red color, take hemoglobin away and it might be blue. Heck you don't even know if pure blood is blue, what if it was yellow!?!?

I acknowledged the fact that those people who voted blue and argue it themselves. STOP SAYING I LABELED PEOPLE STUPID!! STOP SAYING I CHANGED IT TO A PUBLIC TO HUMILIATE PEOPLE, I didn't humiliate a single person (now your probably going to go through all the pages here and just look for one post where I humiliate someone and quote it and use it against me in your next post).

I didn't make this poll to be funny, I just wanted to get an idea about what people know, because at my elementary, and middle school, most people thought your blood was blue inside your body.

That sums up my retaliation. Your stuff is hardcore and can make someone cry... I bet you've done that already many times haven't you?

I've been saying that there're far too many variables and that the question is way too open in order to have a 'right' and a 'wrong' answer. Other people have denied that, so I've explained why. If you call an explanation making this into a big deal, then I don't know what to say.

I'm not either. What's your point?

The question you meant to ask and the poll's question are two different questions. The picture demonstrates the question you meant to ask, which is basically, what is the colour of the blood in the picture. The poll's question is far to broad to have one correct answer, as I've already said numerous times before.

Well I've been active in a fair few of your poll threads, like the paranormal, extraterrestrial and bigfoot ones, etc, and I don't recall any of them being public, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Choosing 'Blue' and being told you're stupid for choosing 'Blue' are two completely different situations.

It's saying that if people have to supposedly be stupid to choose 'Blue', then asking that question in the first place is just as stupid. It's like going around asking people what's one plus one to see if they answer correctly or not.

The fact that pure blood is blue. As I said before, the vacuum is the means of obtaining pure blood. It's just like distilling sea water. Obviously sea water doesn't naturally exist inside a distillation flask, as it's merely a way of obtaining pure water.

It's because your question is so broad that there can't be a 'right' or a 'wrong' answer. I'm merely trying to explain to you why the answer that you think is 'wrong' can actually be 'right'.

And you wonder why I'm saying you don't know your facts. Even after I've told you pure blood is blue and explained to you why pure blood is blue, you're still saying it's not. Oxyhemoglobin is red, and deoxyhemoglobin is blue. The oxygen is a supplement. It's just like sea water. Sea water is salty, and pure water is not salty. In this example, the salt is the supplement. To get pure blood, you can put it in a vacuum, which breaks all the oxygen bonds, just as to get pure water, you can distil it, which separates the ionic bonds. In short, and for abuot the millionth time, pure blood is blue.

You've gotta be joking. I'm struggling to find a simple enough way to explain this, as I've already explained it, but you're still asking stuff like this, so you obviously aren't understanding.

    Ok, here goes.

In your arteries, blood is oxygenated and appears very red. It appears red because the colour of oxyhemoglobin is red. In your veins, the blood has lost a lot of its oxygen and appears a very dark red. It appears dark red because the colour of deoxyhemoglobin is blue, and because about a quarter of the blood is your veins is deoxygenated while the other three quarters are still fully oxygenated, the blood as a whole is a very dark red. The simplest way to obtain pure blood is to put the blood in a vacuum. Putting the blood in a vacuum to obtain pure blood is no different to distilling salt water in order to obtain pure water. When the blood's in the vacuum, all the oxygen bonds are broken, which means that the blood only contains deoxyhemoglobin, which is blue. Unlike blood in your veins, there is no longer any oxyhemoglobin, which is red, only deoxyhemoglobin, which is blue. That's why pure blood is blue.

No, I won't go through all the pages, I'll just redirect you to your signature.

As I've said before, numerous times, that's not what the question is asking. There isn't a correct answer to the poll's question, as it's far too broad. It's completely understandable for people to say that blood is blue, just as it's understandable for someone to say that water has a density of one gram per mil. Obviously naturally occuring blood, and water, isn't blue, and doesn't have a density of one gram per mil, but pure blood, and pure water, does.

Only to those who are too stubborn to understand what I'm saying.

I though this question was referred to as you think you'r royalty or not.. I mean, not a literal question.. I didnt vote cause I just though it was kinda stupid :p

I mean, Im not sure if you ever heard people says royalty (as in princes, kings, etc) have blue blood. It's not literal tho.. at least, i dont think it is XD

Okay, obviously there are too many variables. But why would you think I meant the color of your blood in a vacuum? The first thing that should come to your mind is in your body or a cut, not in space. And yes, this is making it into a big deal, I wasn't the one talking about what if blood were in a vacuum and challenging my thought process.

Someone revived it and caused you to write your blood in space theorem. Which led to this argument.

The poll's question is obviously about blood in your body and not in a vacuum, as I've already said numerous times before. There would be no reason for anyone to think that I would be asking the color of your blood in a vacuum.

    Your wrong.

    Bigfoot:

    Paranormal:

    ExtreTerrestrial:
    http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4653&highlight=extraterrestrial

And what the hell is up with you. You obviously hate my posts since you removed some "offensive humor" in there, what was it anyways? Look, I'm honest, this poll I didn't make public but the other two I did!

Yes, that's true. I never called any one person stupid.

Asking the question in the first place is not stupid, and again, this thread wasn't made to call people stupid, I just wanted to see if people knew the answer, that's all. And since your going to argue about the possible answer again, here: Obviously your blood is mainly in your body, so why would I be talking about some hemoglobin-less red blood cells?

As I said before, blood is not naturally in a freaking vacuum. Why would blood be in a vacuum, just tell me, tell me why besides doing research since that's a whole different thing.
Obviously blood doesn't naturally exist in a vacuum, as it's usually in a living human.

My question is not broad, it's only broad to someone like you. I'm merely trying to explain to you why the answer is set and not affected by your blood in space theorem. Since blood does not naturally exist in a vacuum.

My facts, I know them. You just never explained to me that when you said pure blood, you meant only the blood cells and not the hemoglobin, you weren't thorough enough. Don't blame me for not knowing you meant only blood cells, just like my poll. You kept saying that it was too broad, well now you're being too broad. If you had explained, maybe I wouldn't be writing this paragraph.

You obviously aren't understanding that I meant blood in your bloodstream and not in a vacuum, for the trillionth time. Blood does not naturally exist in a vacuum. I'm also struggling to find a simple way to explain it. You struggled so much that Meee summed it up in one sentence. I'll get to you, Meee, in a minute.

It takes you about four days to explain that this is what your saying to me? Like I said earlier, you weren't thorough enough so how could I have known that you meant blood without hemoglobin? Why would blood even be in a vacuum in the first place? the simplest way to get pure blood is in a vacuum... Obviously I wasn't talking about pure blood in my poll since if I meant pure blood, I would have said pure blood.

If I didn't say that you were going to look through the pages, you would have done it. My signature, is a signature. Like Nikzad's avatar, it's like saying girls are all sluts(not that anyone here is). Oh great... now this is going to turn into an argument about Nikzad's avatar.

As I've said numerous times before, the question is obviously not about blood in a vacuum, or pure blood. It just said blood, which means not pure blood! Yes, there is a correct answer to this question. If I had said what color is pure blood without hemoglobin, then blue would be the correct answer. I bet most people didn't even know that pure blood was blue. Also, I'm not a smart aleck so I obviously did not mean pure blood when I said blood.

    O
Too stubborn? Your the stubborn one for insisting that I insulted people and by saying that blood in a vacuum is blue, you already know that I meant in your bloodstream. Also 2/3 of the people who voted chose red, they obviously knew I didn't mean blood in a vacuum, yet you don't?

The thing is, the argument is not about if a person is stupid, but that if blood were in a stupid vacuum it would be blue, and that my question is too broad for someone to understand. And supposedly half of those people who voted blue were just joking, it should be 1/6 then. Want me to change it?

This argument is going nowhere ItzaHexGore, you keep bringing up your "blood in a vacuum" theorem to just counter all my arguments. It's the only thing you say.

Sorry for double posting, but it got too long:

By the way, your wrong! Hemoglobin is what makes it red, not oxygen.

(The ellipses are where the stuff is too long so I cut it out.) You see my point?

Seeing as if I were to reply to each individual part, I'd be saying the exact same thing over and over again, I've decided it'd be simpler to reply with each point.

    1. The vacuum is a way of obtaining pure blood, just as distillation is a way of obtaining pure water. It's not a theorem.

    2. The question simply asks what colour is blood. Seeing as this could be interpreted in a number of ways, it's a broad question. It doesn't have a 'right' and a 'wrong' answer.

    3. You still don't understand the facts (yet continue to call others stupid):

    a) Hemoglobin is a part of the red blood cells.

    b) Putting blood in a vacuum does not remove the hemoglobin, it removes the oxygen.

    c) Oxyhemoglobin is red. That is, hemoglobin with added oxygen is red.

    d) Deoxyhemoglobin is blue. That is, hemoglobin without added oxygen is blue.

    e) The oxygen is a supplement.

    4. I understand that you meant to ask about blood in the bloodstream, but that's not what the question asks.

    5. You signature blatantly labels those who voted for 'Blue' as being stupid. Nikzad's avatar does nothing of the sort.

I've just got one question to ask, and if you're going to reply, make sure you answer this question:

What is the density of water?

I don't care if you need to look it up or anything, just give me an answer.
